The Compliance Officer is a senior leader within the organization and holds primary responsibility for overseeing the Compliance program for Stryker France. This role is tasked with developing and executing a strategic Compliance program tailored to the French legal, regulatory, and business environment, while aligning with global Compliance objectives.
Key responsibilities include leading the Stryker France Compliance Committee, driving alignment with the global Compliance strategy, and partnering with senior leadership and other stakeholders to proactively identify risks, implement mitigation plans, and support sustainable business success. The Compliance Officer ensures that local legal requirements including those related to anti-bribery and anti-corruption (e.g., Sapin II) and industry standards are embedded in the Compliance framework. In addition, this role ensures that the unique needs and regulatory obligations of Stryker France are fully considered in strategic compliance decisions and that global initiatives are effectively adapted to meet local requirements. Close collaboration with the French leadership team is essential to maintain a culture of integrity and ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The Compliance Officer, France, will also contribute to regional initiatives and projects as assigned by the Senior Compliance Officer.
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:** (Detailed Description)
+ Oversee the Compliance program for Stryker France
+ Influence and partner with senior business leaders to effectively enable business results and manage significant compliance risks.
+ Support Stryker Frace leadership team, to drive a culture of Compliance by setting a strong tone at the top.
+ Oversee development and delivery of training, policies, and guidance that support in line with business goals and the Compliance strategy.
+ Act as a senior leader within the Compliance organization.
+ Implement the Compliance strategy and goals within their Business Units/Divisions or Countries to empower business leadership and effectively manage risk for the company.
+ Develop programs to ensure organizational compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards across regions.
+ Ensure effective Compliance controls are in place, including written standards, education and communication, auditing and monitoring, third-party oversight including indirect channel partners, and corrective action.
+ Provide input to support continuous improvement of the compliance program and to reflect changes, clarifications, or updates in applicable law, regulations, policy, and business strategy.
+ Maintain deep knowledge of the businesses, and their operations; use knowledge of business and compliance metrics to inform the strategy and goals.
+ Focus on team’s engagement and development.
+ Lead continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency, simplicity, and speed of action.
+ Support the Compliance Leadership Team in reporting on the status of compliance program on a regular basis.
+ Maintain knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
+ Raise awareness of the compliance program and promote accountability for ethics and integrity.
+ Foster a continuous improvement mindset and proposes enhancements to the Program informed by industry trends and best practices.
+ Participate in industry associations and engagements to raise the profile of the Compliance program and the company.
**Education & Special Trainings:**
+ Graduate degree and/or professional accreditation preferred.
**Qualifications & Experience:**
+ Minimum of 10+ years of work experience required; previous compliance experience in a related industry or highly regulated environment required.
+ Strong knowledge of the French anti-bribery and anti-corruption (ABAC) regulatory environment, including familiarity with key legislation such as Sapin II, and practical experience in implementing and monitoring compliance programs in line with local legal and ethical standards.
+ Demonstrates knowledge and clear understanding of the required elements of effective Compliance programs and experience with local ethical codes and other relevant standards.
+ Possesses excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
+ Demonstrates high level of professionalism, business acumen, and judgment.
+ Maintains composure and clear decision-making in dynamic situations, ensuring steady progress and effective outcomes.
+ Able to distill complex regulatory and compliance concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-subject matter experts
