Compliance Director

The Compliance Director provides compliance support and guidance on strategic product initiatives for Manulife John Hancock Investments and oversees the implementation of new regulatory requirements that affect the Funds and Adviser.  The role also supports the overall compliance programs for the John Hancock CCO’s Office and facilitates comprehensive reporting to the John Hancock Funds’ independent Board of Trustees.

Position Responsibilities: 

Provide support and guidance on product development and other strategic initiatives for Manulife John Hancock Investments

Collaborate with the local business functions to implement regulatory requirement changes into end-to-end processes, policies and controls

Provide quarterly reporting to the independent board of trustees

Educate leadership team on risk and controls related to key processes and changes

Partner with Risk to properly manage and close corrective action plans

General compliance program support

Required Qualifications:

10+ Years industry experience

Comprehensive knowledge of the 1940 Act registered products and compliance practices

Extensive Knowledge of the US investment/securities industry, products and best practices

Successful in building professional relationships with management/business partners

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)

Results oriented; ability to balance multiple priorities and projects 

Leadership ability, people development and motivational skills

Ability to work independently and in group settings

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

University/college level degree

Salary range is expected to be between

$120,750.00 USD - $217,350.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
