Job Purpose This role is responsible for leading, designing and developing AkzoNobel’s Integrity & Compliance Program covering anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws, commercial third-party risk management, data privacy and competition laws for all businesses and functions in the ASEAN region. He/She will partner with ASEAN leaders to implement the program in their business and functional teams, in order to ensure that AkzoNobel and its business partners own and adhere to AkzoNobel’s core principles, behaviors and expectations in the region.  This role is also part of legal support in Asia legal team, responsible for providing legal support upon regional legal requirements. Key Accountabilities

Region ASEAN:

Conduct I&C Risk Assessments – Identify Integrity and Compliance (I&C) risks and design appropriate remediation plans. Lead Regional I&C Strategy – Drive the ASEAN I&C strategic agenda, focusing on anti-bribery, data privacy, and competition law. Enhance Governance Framework – Strengthen regional and local I&C governance with shared accountability. Act as ASEAN I&C Focal Point – Serve as the main contact for all I&C-related matters in the ASEAN region. Support Business Program Compliance – Review and advise on loyalty and incentive programs to ensure policy alignment. Provide Legal and Compliance Advice – Guide leadership on complex compliance issues and everyday I&C matters. Develop and Implement Policies – Localize and roll out global policies, procedures, and compliance toolkits. Drive Training and Awareness – Deliver impactful training and communication to influence employee behavior and build a compliance culture. Manage Third-Party and M&A Compliance – Oversee due diligence, integration programs, and third-party compliance across the region. Conduct Investigations When Needed – Lead investigations requiring local legal knowledge or language expertise.

 

Legal supports in Asia:

Provide Legal Training and Advisory – Deliver legal guidance and training across the region in accordance with local laws and regulations. Support Internal Legal Policies – Offer legal support to ensure alignment with updated internal policies and procedures. Handle Assigned Legal Matters – Manage other legal tasks and projects as delegated by the Asia legal team. Experience & Competencies Master’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Legal/Law. Minimum 8 years of demonstrated leadership experience with Integrity & Compliance Business Partnership. Experience working for an international business. Demonstrates unwavering ethical standards in both professional and personal conduct. Well-versed in global regulations on bribery, corruption, fraud, antitrust, data privacy, and third-party risk. Understands business dynamics and aligns compliance strategies with organizational goals. Anticipates issues, analyzes risks, and delivers practical, forward-looking solutions. Converts legal and regulatory requirements into clear, efficient, and globally applicable business processes. Influences and inspires through clear writing and strong interpersonal and presentation abilities. Effectively operates with minimal supervision in large, matrixed organizations. Leads cross-functional initiatives and builds strong partnerships across functions and levels. Experienced in managing change and driving compliance operational excellence. Quick to learn, culturally sensitive, and focused on delivering pragmatic, effective compliance solutions.
