Global Compliance   Our division prevents, detects and mitigates compliance, regulatory and reputational risk across the firm and helps to strengthen the firm’s culture of compliance. Compliance accomplishes these through the firm’s enterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As an independent control function and part of the firm’s second line of defense, Compliance assesses the firm’s compliance, regulatory and reputational risk; monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations; designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training; conducts independent testing; investigates, surveils and monitors for compliance risks and breaches; and leads the firm’s responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries. You'll be part of a team with members from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, such as law, accounting, sales, and trading. We look for those who possess sound judgment, curiosity, and are able to adapt to a changing regulatory landscape.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Job Summary

This position will play a key role in the Consumer and Bank Compliance program management by ensuring that compliance risks are adequately identified, assessed, monitored, and controlled. The individual in this position will be expected to assist in the continued development and oversight of the Bank’s Compliance program, including: 

Provide oversight and guidance pertaining to Community Reinvestment Act obligations and industry standards Establish, implement, and maintain risk standards and programs to drive compliance with federal, state, agency, legal and regulatory and GS Bank requirementsDevelop, oversee, and provide independent credible challenge to operating standards and processes with subject matter expertiseProvide direction to the business on issue management, control development and execution, and effectively managing regulatory changeIdentify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control developmentReceive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirementsMonitor the reporting, escalation, and timely remediation of issues, deficiencies or regulatory matters regarding compliance risk managementEngage with Compliance counterparts, Audit, Risk, Legal and Business on risk related topics

Qualifications

Five years+ of Compliance or Legal experience In-depth knowledge of Community Reinvestment Act oversight and compliance obligations, industry standardsGeneral knowledge of consumer banking laws and regulations, including the Fair Housing Act,  HMDA, and the Equal Credit Opportunity ActAbility to research, access and interpret technical data Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and its business partners.Must be self-directed, organized, positive, driven, detail oriented, able to manage others, and effective in a fast-paced changing environment.Bachelor's degree or equivalent military experience
