POSITION SUMMARY: Position is responsible for transporting feed, chickens, utilizing Pilgrim’s trucks, as well as operating a forklift, plus other jobs throughout the complex in a safe and efficient manner.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Transports feed to various grower locations throughout the complex Cleans pellet mill particle separators and other areas of the feed mill as needed.Drives live haul tractor/trailer to grower sites and operates forklift at contract grower location while truck is being loaded. Occasionally other duties will be required while at the grower site.Transporting full and empty loads of live chickens from the Holding Center to the Processing Plant, as well as operating fork-lifts to unload trucks at the plant.Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance to divisional guidelines and DOT requirements.Operates and maintains equipment in a safe and efficient manner; keeping trucks and work areas neat, clean and orderly.Communicates with team members and leadership regarding all relevant information.Ability to be on call for emergency feed deliveries and feed outages when needed.Observe & enforce all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies. Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with customers, clients, coworkers, and leadership teams.Participates in process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement and rational thinking methodologies. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record per Company policy requiredHigh School Diploma or GED with at one to three years driving experienceAbility to compute percentages and fractions. Forklift license requiredAbility to climb 25 feet structuresAbility to perform light maintenance on equipmentAbility to work in dusty work environmentAbility to lift up to 50 poundsMust be flexible with schedule and be willing to cover various areas/departments as needed. Must have a valid Class A Driver’s license with up-to-date Medical Card. An acceptable driving record, according to Company Policy 622 is required and must be maintained, (Possession of single, valid operator’s license with appropriate vehicle classification for operators state of residence; no incident in prior 36 months in which the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol or non-prescription drugs; no incident in prior 36 months of reckless/careless driving; no major driving violations)for Lockout/Tagout safety as well as other company safety programs and policies.
