Complex Risks Underwriter
Job Responsibilities: Assess and underwrite complex risks across various sectors, utilizing advanced analytical skills to evaluate applications and proposals. Engage with clients to gather necessary documentation and information to determine risk profiles. Collaborate with brokers and clients to tailor insurance solutions that meet their unique needs and requirements. Monitor and review current policies and claims to ensure compliance and to identify opportunities for coverage enhancements. Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on risk management strategies and insurance products. Participate in training and development programs to stay current with trends in the insurance market and regulatory requirements. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management and stakeholders related to risk assessment findings. Develop and maintain relationships with third-party risk assessors and other professionals in the industry. Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in finance, insurance, business administration, or a related field. Professional certification in underwriting or risk management is a plus (e.g., CPCU, AU, etc.). Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with attention to detail. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse clients. Fluent in French; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage. Desired Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in underwriting, with a focus on complex risks and commercial insurance. Proven track record of evaluating and managing high-value risks. Experience in a brokerage or insurance company environment preferred. Familiarity with current industry regulations and compliance standards.
