Competitive & Market Intelligence Manager
Arlington, Virginia, USA (Hybrid)
Position Summary
Thales is seeking a Competitive & Market Intelligence Manager in Arlington, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and delivering market analysis insights, and intelligence about the demand landscape, competitive landscape, and customer trends facing the Thales business portfolio in North America for key stakeholders in support of business and strategic decisions in Thales operating markets.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Design, build, and update/manage on an ongoing basis a dataset and knowledge base comprising demand and competitive intelligence information that characterizes Thales core markets in the US and Canada.
Synthesis of key market characteristics & competitor profiling
Build forecasting models to provide insight on market sizes, profiles and timelines, generating market analysis reports to aid business decisions
Build competitor understanding on product offers, pricing, contracts, organizational changes and marketing initiatives, generating company analysis reports to aid business decisions. As practical, support business-winning activities with capture-specific intelligence.
Tracking contractual notices and other relevant news flow
Supporting Black Hat Competitor Analysis processes through production of competitor packs and facilitating working sessions
Support core business processes with competitive and market intelligence, including Marketing Plans, Strategy Plans, Account Plans, Country Plans and Bids
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative or business discipline with a minimum of 8+ years of relevant work experience or Master’s degree in a quantitative or business discipline with 6+ years of relevant work experience
4 years of experience in competitive and/or market analysis, or closely-adjacent role (e.g. corporate strategy or market/strategy consulting)
Domain expertise in at least one of Thales’s core markets – Aerospace, including commercial aviation and space (commercial, civil, military); Defense, with an emphasis on C4ISR and defense electronics; Security, with an emphasis on cybersecurity and/or digital identity
Solid understanding of data modeling and analytics
Demonstrated skills in research and analysis, critical thinking, project design, and assessment of complex and ambiguous datasets
Strong skills in data tools like Excel, to manipulate and summarize complex data sources.
Special Position Requirements
Some travel requirement to attend conferences/exhibitions (Less than 10% estimated)

The reference Total Target Compensation(TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between
Total Target Cash (TTC): 135,880.00 - 180,762.00 - 225,952.50 USD AnnualThis reflects how companies in a similar industry and geographic region generally pay for similar jobs. This range helps the Company make pay decisions as one data point among many. Where a position falls within this range is also dependent on other factors including – but not limited to – the employee’s career path history, competencies, skills and performance, as well as the company’s annual salary budget, the customer’s program requirements, and the company’s internal equity.
