Compensation Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing the strategic direction, design, and administration of short and long-term compensation programs.  Procures the most appropriate salary data sources and utilizes it to implement best practice compensation programs.  Ensures that company policies and practices are compliant with federal, state, and local laws. A main objective of this position would be to provide and ensure compensation programs are delivered in a fair and consistent manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Develops compensation programs to attract, engage and motivate outfitters. This will include, salary structures, incentive and sales compensation, shift and geographic differentials, deferred compensation, market adjustment and internal equity.

Implements and administers compensation programs including merit, bonus, minimum wage adjustments, step-programs, etc.  

Develops communications regarding compensation programs and changes through direct communication with management, training, and in conjunction with HR business partners and other HR Leadership.  

Responds to compensation-related questions from Managers, HR Partners and Recruiters, in a fair and consistent manner and in alignment with company programs and policies.

Oversees the job evaluation and market pricing process to ensure new and current job roles are assigned to the appropriate Compensation structure and level.

Develops and maintain compensation documentation and collaborate with HR Operations and other partners to support audits, and drive process improvements.

Provides work direction and a work environment that promotes collaboration, growth, and development to direct reports and co-workers.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Degree Required:  Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration

Certificate(s) or License(s): CCP or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR preferred

Experience: 5 to 7 years of exempt level compensation experience

Previous leadership experience

Workday experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

Ability to communicate effectively with outfitters at all levels, in a friendly and professional manner

Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, delivering quality results in a timely manner

Ability to effectively utilize Microsoft applications and HRIS (Workday)

Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with co-workers and vendors, with an emphasis on collaboration

Ability to analyze information and make sound business recommendation and decisions

Strong financial business acumen

Ability and desire to stay current on compensation trends

Ability to foster a culture that promotes an open and positive work environment

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
