Compensation Consultant, Executive and Broad-based
Ameriprise Financial has an exciting new opportunity for a Compensation Consultant to join our global team! This position is responsible for partnering with the Vice President of Executive Compensation and Vice President of North America Compensation to manage the development, analysis, and administration of executive and broad-based compensation strategies and programs. This includes supporting Ameriprise Board of Directors meetings and leading the development of the annual Proxy Statement, to ensure a flexible yet consistent application of guiding principles across corporate functions and global business segments.

This role will also be an integral part of our global compensation team, proactively identifying and developing executive and broad-based compensation strategies. This includes using compensation data, tools and applications and providing subject matter expertise to translate analysis into easily understood recommendations. The role may also lead projects and develop communications for executive and broad-based compensation projects or programs.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the preparation of materials for Compensation and Benefits Committee of the Board of Directors meetings. Perform research and analysis to help inform materials.Manage multiple programs related to executive compensation, including Stock Ownership Guidelines and Detrimental Conduct provisions. Lead the implementation, communication, and administration of these compensation programs.Prepare executive compensation data and compensation tables for the annual Proxy Statement and partner with leadership on developing the Compensation Discussion and Analysis (CD&A).Partner with global compensation team members to provide analytical and consultative support to multiple business lines to identify and develop business initiatives or strategies.Perform activities related to any number of broad-based compensation programs including base salary, incentive plans, year-end processes, offer analyses, etc. Identify opportunities and suggest solutions for development or modification of various compensation programs (broad-based incentives, year-end administration, executive compensation, long-term incentive award, etc.) through data analysis.Maintain in-depth compensation and industry knowledge. Conduct competitive analysis and recommend updates as necessary in line with market trends and findings.  


Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent5+ years of relevant experienceDemonstrated experience in developing and administering compensation programs that drive desired business results.Strong compensation data analysis, data interpretation skills, with attention to detail.Strong verbal and written communication skills required to discuss issues and articulate program/policy interpretation to HR staff and business leaders.Ability to identify issues and develop potential solutions, using data to support recommendations.Proficiency with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint


Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in financial services, insurance industry, or professional services.Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $91,600 - $123,700/ year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
