As a Compensation Analyst at Southwest Airlines, you’ll help design, develop, and implement Company-wide compensation programs that are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with our People-first values. You’ll provide expert guidance on a wide range of pay-related topics, including job structure and salary range development, base pay administration, and compensation policy. You'll also support HR teams and Leaders across all levels of the organization. This role will focus on corporate functions, particularly Technology and Finance, and will be instrumental in driving data-informed decisions through equitable offer recommendations, accurate market pricing, and effective execution of our annual merit and bonus cycles. Responsibilities
Analyze and conduct market analyses by benchmarking jobs to external survey data, assessing internal equity, and communicating findings and recommendationsAssist with the administration of the merit and STI/LTI review cycles including, but not limited to, running audit reports, maintaining eligibility, budgets and troubleshooting issues within the HRIS systemConsult on job descriptionsGenerate ad-hoc reports as requested including market adjustment reports, out-of-range reports, exemption change reports, or other compensation-related analyses for use by designated groups within the organizationParticipate in third party compensation survey questionnairesProvide advice on the resolution on appropriate job classification and recommended compensationAct as a strategic partner in providing compensation guidance to the Talent Acquisition and HRBP organizationsMay perform other job duties as directed by Employee's LeadersKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resourcesKnowledge of principles and processes for providing Customer and personal services including Customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of Customer SatisfactionKnowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systemsSkilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing, and assimilating data including turning raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization softwareSkilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problemsSkilled in using mathematics to solve problemsSkilled in Payfactors or compensation survey management toolsAbility to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make senseAbility to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understandEducation
