Community Services and Training Manager

What You'll Do 

As the Community Services and Training Manager at Easterseals New York (ESNY), you will oversee the daily operations of the OPWDD Home and Community-Based Services Respite and Day Habilitation programs, ensuring the safety and well-being of all program participants as well as monitoring and documenting the implementation of Staff Action Plans. You will lead a team of respite providers and the DayHab Assistant Manager to ensure that all activities comply with ESNY policies, OPWDD regulations, and State and Federal laws. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and delivering training programs that support the organization’s goals, regularly assessing their impact and effectiveness.

 

Your responsibilities will include: 

Plan Oversight: Implement and monitor IPOP’s, Life Plans, staff action plans, and program goals.Training Management: Develop training schedules across departments, conduct new hire onboarding, select appropriate training methods, and maintain detailed training records.Staffing Development: Recruit, mentor, and supervise trainers; delegate tasks and assess performance; provide feedback and identify additional training needs.Program Support: Assist with treatment planning, coordinate community-based services, and align recreational activities with participant interests.Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate records (paper and digital), ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulations, and input data into electronic systems.Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain partnerships with families, and community organizations to support participant services.Behavioral Support: Deliver services to individuals with complex behavioral challenges in a professional and supportive manner.Continuous Learning: Stay updated on evolving training methods, attend seminars, and apply new strategies to improve training effectiveness.Operational Coordination: Manage training budgets and materials; market training opportunities and track employee progress.

 

You're a great fit for this role if you have: 

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (strongly preferred); OR Associate's degree with at least three (3) years’ experience in the same field.At least three (3) years’ professional experience in a public or private organization as a Training Coordinator, Training Facilitator, Trainer, or a similar role.Demonstrated success in designing and delivering effective training programs.Familiarity with current training methods, tools, and best practices.A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in direct support is a plus.A valid driver’s license (required)

 

Compensation: $65,000/yr
