About the Role
This position serves as a vital contributor to the implementation of IU Health’s support for the Indy Health District (IHD), advancing its mission to improve life expectancy and address the root causes of health disparities in historically marginalized neighborhoods. The role is responsible for developing and executing strategic community outreach initiatives, coordinating high-impact programs and events, and fostering meaningful engagement with residents, neighborhood associations, government partners, and anchor institutions.

This position will lead the operational planning and execution of the District’s signature initiatives – including stakeholder convenings, volunteer activations, and community-based programming – ensuring that all activities are aligned with the District’s broader strategic goals. This includes overseeing event logistics, managing vendor and consultant relationships, and supporting the execution of contracts and agreements.

In addition to external engagement and operations, the role is charged with monitoring and tracking key District metrics, developing internal processes to enhance program effectiveness, and contributing to data-informed reporting and accountability. This position demands strong organizational acumen, a relationship-driven mindset, and a commitment to place-based systems change aimed at improving health and social outcomes for residents across the Indy Health District.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Program Execution:
Manage the day-to-day operational needs of IHD’s signature initiatives, including large-scale stakeholder convenings, community events, workforce activations, and place-based programming.Event Management & Logistics:
Lead the planning and on-the-ground coordination of IHD events—from site logistics and consultant coordination to vendor management, permit acquisition, and contract execution.Stakeholder Engagement:
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, neighborhood associations, anchor institutions, government agencies, and philanthropic partners to align support and resources with IHD goals.Contract and Consultant Oversight:
Review, manage, and track contracts, MOUs, and service agreements for vendors, consultants, and partners to ensure alignment with legal and programmatic standards.Data Monitoring & Reporting:
Collect, organize, and monitor key programmatic data and metrics in alignment with the IHD Metrics Dashboard. Assist in drafting reports, presentation materials, and board updates to support internal and external accountability.Strategic Alignment:
Partner with the Executive Director and cross-sector teams to ensure that all engagement, events, and operations are aligned with the District’s strategic vision and North Star goal of life expectancy improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience required.
• 5-7 Years of Experience.
• Ability to work in a complex business environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, background managing program/event logistics.
• Experience in managing program/event logistics preferred.
• Experience designing and facilitating training adults and presenting to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with under-served and/or high-risk populations at a macro level.
