As Communications Specialist Sr. on the Internal Communications team, you will serve as the liaison for implementation of the corporate communications strategy related to your assigned area of focus. You will proactively handle and neutralize sensitive issues and thoroughly understand the business and other issues that impact your area. A Day in the Life: In this role, you will have the opportunity to improve employee engagement and further strengthen the company’s brand from within. You will serve as a crucial communications partner for one or more executives and their teams, providing strategic counsel and developing and implementing communication plans to help achieve Williams' business objectives. You will work as part of a larger team to coordinate internal messaging and priorities, create compelling content that inspires changes in employee behavior while collaborating with peers across the company to generate excitement, awareness, trust and pride. The successful candidate for this role will work collaboratively with various internal partners and the ability to understand complex information, simplify messages and plan effective change management. The ability to maintain integrity and apply discretion appropriately is vital. You must be a demonstrated writer able to deliver nuanced and engaging communications for varied internal audiences, demonstrate experience in creatively solving problems and work with minimal guidance while balancing projects simultaneously. Other day-to-day work may include: + Distilling sophisticated technical or financial information into manageable concepts and content + Identifying and developing proactive content for Williams’ internal communications channels, blending business narratives and creative storytelling to push engaging content + Collaborating with others to provide timely internal response and support for unanticipated events, sensitive issues and critical incidents + Supporting communications for organizational changes Responsibilities/Expectations: + Provides communication counsel to executives and other internal partners in support of their and the business' objectives + Creates and completes communication plans to achieve those goals and support organizational change activities + Writes content for a variety of internal audiences and mediums, including company’s internal communications digital platform, newsletters, company-wide emails, presentations and town halls + Partners and interacts with senior management on communications and engagement initiatives, projects and programs, helping them deliver written and spoken communications in a way that resonates and builds trust with employees + Strategizes to identify ways to repurpose internal content for external use + Other duties as assigned Education/Years of Experience: + Required: Bachelor's degree in strategic communications, public relations, journalism, media relations or related field and a minimum of five (5) years’ related experience Other Requirements: + Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, specifically Excel, and PC skills + Excellent writing and editing skills required, as well as a solid understanding of AP style + Previous experience leading and managing strategic and/or complex communication plans + Results-oriented with the proven ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment + Excellent problem-solving, a keen attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure while handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment + Preferred: Experience with SharePoint Online + Preferred: Experience with third-party internal content management tools + Preferred: Knowledge of the energy industry or experience in providing communications in a highly technical environment About Tulsa: Our corporate headquarters is located in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma, the 2nd largest city in Oklahoma and the 47th most populous in the U.S. Tulsa is known as the Mother of "The Mother Road" - Route 66, and boasts impressive art deco architecture, the #1 city park in the U.S. (The Gathering Place) and is a great venue for live music.
