The Minnesota Secure Choice Retirement Program was established by the legislature to encourage saving for retirement by employees working for employers who don’t offer a workplace retirement plan. To achieve that goal, legislation was passed mandating employers with five or more employees to participate in the Program. The program is administered and enforced by the Minnesota Secure Choice Retirement Board. As the Boards Communications Specialist you will execute communications strategies with a focus on: + Developing, maintaining, and distributing marketing material; + Creating and maintaining website content; + Engaging in social media activities; + Performing in- person informational meetings for private sector employees and employers regarding technical program aspects. This position is eligible for up to a 50% hybrid telework arrangement. With a telework agreement, onsite attendance will be required for team meetings or as requested by management to meet business needs. Completion of a telework agreement will be required. Please review the Telework Policy (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework-2025.pdf) for details. **Minimum Qualifications** Two (2) years of experience working in communications or marketing spaces including social media, digital marketing, communications and public relations, and/or website management/marketing. A bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic design, marketing, journalism, public relations or related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience. Applicants who meet the above will be further assessed on the following: + Skill in using content management systems (CMS), basic knowledge of HTML/CSS. + Skill in using graphic design software such as those in the Adobe creative suite, InDesign, PhotoShop, and Illustrator. + Ability to lead social media campaigns/messaging and understanding of current trends in social media platforms. + Ability to meet tight deadlines and complete projects as directed. + Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills. + Demonstrated writing, editing, and in-person and virtual presentation skills in English sufficient to communicate clearly and professionally. **Preferred Qualifications** + Degree in communications, graphic design, marketing, journalism, public relations or related field. + Experience developing social media campaigns. + Experience making Web, online, and print content accessible (i.e., meeting, or exceeding ADA standards.) + Knowledge of State policies, procedures, and practices in the areas of information and data practices. **Additional Requirements** Successful applicants must pass employment reference checks and a criminal background check through American Databank prior to employment.
