Meta is looking for an experienced Communications Manager to join its Communications team in Germany.
You will have extensive experience in developing and executing high-profile communications campaigns tailored to various audiences, using social-first tactics, managing day-to-day media relations, and handling complex issues. You will be hands-on and take charge of proactive communications - from strategy to execution - for key Meta moments in Germany. You will run proactive campaigns that help us land core narratives for the most important consumer, business, and product updates.
Youll be experienced at thinking through complicated reputational challenges including brand perception - short and long term. Meta has billions of users globally, so operating and thinking internationally is crucial. Youll have the ability to navigate swiftly between business, consumer and policy communications, and youll have a solid network of both reporters and creators locally.
We are looking for someone adept at understanding complex issues, an ability to navigate across teams, and deliver on our goals. You will play a critical role in helping reduce the noise on crisis topics, as well as increasing the volume on messaging that matters for our users, clients and for our company.
Responsibilities Lead and execute Metas communications strategy in Germany across a number of themes including AI, crafting plans and programs based on reputational needs, company plans, and metrics. Work cross-functionally with numerous teams, locally and globally, to manage media opportunities, social first elements, and mitigate crisis. Create campaigns designed to proactively address Metas brand reputation and challenges specific to Germany. Identify and pitch positive news stories about Meta and its technologies to deliver a steady pipeline of proactive coverage in Germany. Manage reactive press issues, working closely with the Policy Communications team in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and the Public Policy team in Germany to tackle issues and build proactive communications moments that advance the companys position e.g. responding to reporters, drafting statements, correcting inaccuracies etc. Provide communications counsel and support for business leaders in Germany and in Meta in general - including executive positioning. Prepare communications plans, briefing materials and manage spokespeople during media interviews, social activations, and events. Manage creator relations for comms moments, including our external agency. Minimum Qualifications 8 years of experience executing media campaigns, crisis management, building relationships with media, and working with executives. Very effective communication and writing skills in German and English. Significant experience in managing external communications, corporate issues, and project management. Experience managing agencies and putting in place scalable processes to drive and measure results. Established relationships and contacts with German media, creators, and opinion leaders. Proven project management and decision-making skills. Experience working with, influencing, and presenting to very experienced stakeholders. Experienced collaborator, well-versed in influencing others, and adept at bringing larger groups along to execute complex cross-team projects. Adept at using AI in their day-to-day work. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree. Experience working in a fast-paced business or in tech. In-house communications experience.
