Purpose:
Stewards Individual Placements, a division of Conservation Legacy, provides individuals with AmeriCorps service and career opportunities to strengthen communities and preserve our natural and cultural resources.
The Communications and Community Engagement (CACE) team supports national parks and programs within the National Capital Region (NCR) by providing guidance and technical expertise in several areas. The digital communications program within CACE provides subject matter expertise to help parks create innovative and informative experiences online for everyone. The National Capital Region of the National Park Service serves approximately 55 million locals and visitors from around the world that come to the National Capital Region national parks for inspiration, relaxation, exercise and fun.
Stewards Individual Placements, in partnership with the National Capital Region, is seeking a Communications Fellow (ADA Communications) who will be responsible for collecting and compiling access/attainability data on National Park sites within the National Capital Region, formatting the information gathered for publication, and publishing the information to NPS.gov

Time Requirements:
Typically, this position is expected to serve Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, but exact service schedules may vary. A lunch break will not be counted towards AmeriCorps service Member may be required to participate in national, state, or local service projects or events as part of their service term.
Orientation and Training:
Members will receive an orientation that includes training on AmeriCorps prohibited and unallowable activitiesOrientation to the National Park Service and CACE TeamTraining on data collection toolsTraining on NPS Content Management System

Evaluation and Reporting:
As an AmeriCorps member, performance will be evaluated on whether the member has completed the required number of hours, the member has satisfactorily completed assignments, and if the member has met other performance criteria that were clearly communicated at the beginning of the term of service. Reporting requirements include, but are not limited to, bi-weekly timesheets and accomplishment tracking.
