Communications Clerk - Telecommunications - Full Time

Position Summary: Provide the highest quality patient care consistent with Guthrie’s Vision of Improving Health through Excellence and Compassion; Every Patient, Every Time. As a point of contact for most patients, will handle all incoming and outgoing calls and provides direct, daily operational support in a manner consistent with Guthrie Medical Group’s Service Excellence Standards. This position requires the ability to be self‐motivated, flexible, punctual, detail oriented, have good time management skills, and have excellent communication skills.
Education, License & Cert: High School Grad or Equivalent required.
Experience: Prior call center experience in a fast‐paced environment with high call volumes preferred. Training on console provided at time of hire. Must have knowledge of all areas of medical center and organizational data on same.
Essential Functions: 1. Operates telephone system. 2. Answers telephone calls in a friendly and efficient manner according to Guthrie’s Service Excellence Standards of Performance and Supervisor direction. 3. Fully and accurately documents patient conversations in appropriate computer system(s) as required. 4. Ensures accuracy of telephone listing of senior staff, administrative personnel, and all employees with proper extensions for all locations. 5. Recognizes and reports any malfunction of equipment promptly to department Supervisor or appropriate personnel. 6. Maintains strict confidentiality related to patient health information in accordance with HIPAA compliance. 7. Assists with and completes other projects or duties as needed.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.37/hour
