Position Title: Communications and Marketing, Student Assistant Specialist Requisition Number: 0406073653 Location New York City Position Type: Student Department: Mannes/Admin. Office Responsibilities: The College of Performing Arts at The New School is seeking a highly motivated and creative Communications and Marketing Student Assistant Specialist to join the Communications & Marketing/Strategic Initiatives team. Reporting to the Manager of Communications, the Communications and Marketing Student Assistant Specialist will support a range of communication and marketing initiatives across the college and its three schools: Mannes School of Music, The School of Jazz and Contemporary Music, and The School of Drama. The Specialist will play a role in capturing and communicating the vibrant life of the college, including student experiences, faculty and alumni achievements, performances, and cross-college collaborations, through content creation, graphic design, event promotion, storytelling, social media support, media archiving, and other projects that showcase the College’s identity and mission.
This position is open to student applicants with Federal Work Study awards, as well as student applicants without a Federal Work Study award.

RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in capturing and sharing student experiences, performances, and community life across the College of Performing Arts. Create content for social media platforms, newsletters and press announcements. Design digital and printed assets, including social media posts, posters, digital and printed ads. Support event promotion and marketing efforts. Organize and archive photos, videos, and other media assets. Provide general administrative and communications support to the Communications & Marketing/Strategic Initiatives team.
WORK MODE Hybrid/Split – Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus (ex 1-4x/week) and also work some of the time remotely.
SALARY RANGE Hourly Rate: $17.00/hour
Hours per Week: 5-20
