Are you in? **Primary Purpose** **PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION** The Communications Specialist is responsible for planning and executing external communications events and projects for ComEd, reporting to the Manager of Executive Events and Visibility. This person serves as a point of contact, ensuring full integration with corporate and business unit/operating company communications organizations and an effective working relationship with local press and local community partners. **Primary Duties** **PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES** + Ensure effective communication of corporate goals and initiatives to employees. (10%) + Support and participate in communications programs and initiatives. (20%) + Produce accurate, compelling, and editorially proficient written communications. (15%) + Oversee a variety of communication tasks to support leadership, including talking points, short presentations, and online messages. (5%) + Develop strong working relationship with local press. (15%) + Assist in resource-sharing duties with other Communications departments. (10%) + Work with manager to ensure effectiveness of community relations activities and relationships with external constituencies, including the media, civic and public interest groups. (25%) **Job Scope** **JOB SCOPE** + Position reports directly to the Manager, Communications. + Position activities are focused on external communications and strategic media events taking place across the region, with events developed both by the business as well as various external stakeholder organizations. + Involves proactive communication planning, with oversight from Manager, and plan execution, project leadership and a high level of coordination with executive leadership in the company and with various internal departments. + Requires significant outreach to local press and developing strong community relationships. + Requires ability to travel to manage events, providing logistical support and transporting event materials/signage, such as step-and-repeat, etc. as needed. **Minimum Qualifications** **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** + 4-year relevant degree and a minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in internal or external communications + Proven communications skills - both written and interpersonal; + Excellent writing skills and self motivation + In lieu of degree, 3-6 years of relevant experience **Preferred Qualifications** **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** + Energy business/industry knowledge. + Understanding of press dynamics and organizational communications Willingness to learn and undertake new projects. + Spanish fluency a plus **Benefits** **Benefits** + Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $60,000.00/Yr. – $82,500.00/Yr. + Annual Bonus for eligible positions: 10% + 401(k) match and annual company contribution + Medical, dental and vision insurance + Life and disability insurance + Generous paid time off options, including vacation, sick time, floating and fixed holidays, maternity leave and bonding/primary caregiver leave or parental leave + Employee Assistance Program and resources for mental and emotional support + Wellbeing programs such as tuition reimbursement, adoption and surrogacy assistance and fitness reimbursement + Referral bonus program + And much more Note: Exelon-sponsored compensation and benefit programs may vary or not apply based on length of service, job grade, job classification or represented status.
