The Opportunity 

Are you a strategic communicator who loves turning ideas into stories that connect and inspire? As a Communication Consultant supporting our corporate functions, you’ll bring your skill, creativity, and passion to help enhance the MassMutual employee experience across HR, Law, Compliance, and other company-wide initiatives.

In this position, you’ll play a key role in planning and executing communication strategies for a wide range of projects, from employee engagement surveys to compensation and performance management to talent mobility, compliance policies and more. And to keep things interesting, you’ll also lead or contribute to company-wide efforts, backed by a talented team across media, digital, and executive communications. We’d love to tell you exactly what you’d be doing each day, but the truth is: every day brings something new—and that’s part of the fun.

The Impact

Inform, engage, connect and inspire MassMutual employees through clear, straightforward communications that help drive a great employee experience.

Identify communication needs and develop strategies and materials that highlight work going on within our corporate functions (HR, Law and Compliance, and more) making connections across various initiatives and our broader strategy.

Work with our HR and Communication colleagues to engage and connect employees with a variety of employee experience topics – leading or contributing to communications related to employee engagement, compensation, performance management, development, talent mobility, company policy and more.  

Support our People Analytics team in gathering employee feedback through engagement and pulse survey communications—and translate the results into meaningful stories that connect to broader company initiatives and strategy.

Develop clear and concise communications and partner with designers to bring them to life on a variety of platforms (e.g., presentations, email, intranet, digital screens, etc.)

Lead various other cross-functional communication initiatives as needed.

Participate in data-driven analysis of communications effectiveness and adapt/respond to findings.

The Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in communications, journalism, or related field

8+ years communications experience, with demonstrated experience lead cross-functional communication projects from concept to execution

The Ideal Qualifications

Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify and clarify complex topics

Extensive experience working directly with senior leaders

Strong collaboration and influencing skills across all levels of the organization

Skilled at meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities simultaneously

A clear passion for communications and enhancing the employee experience

The ability to collaborate with designers and content publishers to manage the end-to-end process of creating employee communications.

Comfortable using artificial intelligence tools (e.g., Copilot) to enhance communication planning and execution

Demonstrated success coordinating and running executive-level, all-employee meetings, including logistics, agendas, and messaging

Skilled in using visuals—graphics, photos, video, and more—to create memorable, impactful communication campaigns

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with content management systems and project management tools is a plus

Dedicated to applying communication best practices and exploring innovative techniques and technologies to continuously improve impact.

Salary Range: $113,100.00-$148,400.00
