With over 20 years’ experience in workers compensation claims management, a unique opportunity exists to join a new DXC team. DXC are currently partnering with a reputable Government Health Organsiation, setting up their Wokers' Compensation Department and would love you to join the team as a Common Law Work Injury Damages Officer.

The Common Law Work Injury Damages Officer is responsible for managing and processing claims related to work injury damages under the New South Wales workers compensation system. This role focuses on claims associated with the Treasury Managed Fund (TMF), ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

Key elements to this role include

Assess, evaluate, and determine liability for work injury damages claims.Manage the entire claims process from initial assessment through to resolution, ensuring timely and accurate handling of claims.Ensure all claims are processed in accordance with the Workers Compensation Act and relevant common law principles.Stay updated on changes to legislation and case law affecting work injury damages.Liaise with claimants, employers, legal representatives, and other stakeholders to gather information and provide updates on claim status.Prepare detailed reports and correspondence related to claims management.Negotiate settlements with claimants and their legal representatives, aiming for fair and equitable outcomes.Contribute to dispute resolution processes as required.Prepare case files for legal proceedings when necessary.Generate and analyse reports related to claims trends, outcomes, and financial impacts on the TMF.

To be successful

Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex legal and medical information.Ethical and professional approach to handling sensitive and confidential information.A degree in law, business, or a related field is preferred but not essential.Minimum of 3 years' experience in Disputes Role in workers compensation or personal injury claims management, preferably within the NSW framework.Familiarity with Treasury Managed Fund claims is highly desirable.Proficiency in claims management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
