**Position** : Commodity Manager
**Reporting To** : Commodity Management Leader - Manufactured Products
**Preferred Location:** Carmel, IN
**Position Overview** :
Manage mechanical commodities for the Americas region. Identify and engage with internal stakeholders (product management, marketing, engineering, operations, quality) to capture commodity requirements and ensure supplier qualification and quality objectives. Responsible for developing & executing detailed commodity strategies. Accountable for all commercial negotiations and supplier selections within assigned commodity families. This role is also responsible for management of suppliers through formal Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process and accountable for managing supplier performance and supplier risk across all responsible commodities. Engage with New Production Introduction (NPI) Supply Management Team to support new product development (NPD) program launches. Manage supplier projects/initiatives, including process improvements, standardization, cost reduction, etc.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Directly manage supplier relationships for assigned commodities.
+ Develop and execute procurement strategies and optimize total supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery, and technology). Lead, manage and execute all data collection, validation, analysis and negotiation activities for the commodity(s).
+ Perform competitive analysis, industry benchmark, and opportunity assessments.
+ Develop risk mitigation plans.
+ Drive productivity initiatives with suppliers to assure inflation mitigation and recovery.
+ Monitor supply markets and periodically report trends.
+ Drive Value Added, Value Engineering (VAVE) and continuous improvement initiatives in the supply chain.
+ Lead current production cost reduction and future program sourcing activities.
+ Collaborate with Commodity and Material Managers across regions to drive synergies and supplier exploration.
+ Lead the negotiation and management of strategic supplier contracts; approve any changes and manage overall relationship for strategic suppliers.
+ Communicate commodity agreements and strategies to stakeholders.
+ Monitor and report compliance to commodity contracts and strategy.
+ Conduct on-going supplier assessments and performance review meetings, monitor effectiveness of strategy, and make changes where appropriate.
+ Operate in a professional manner with the highest personal integrity and in accordance with Allegion’s Code of Ethical Conduct and compliance policies.
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or related field
+ 4 to 8 years procurement sourcing experience, project management, engineering, operations, consulting, quality, procurement, and/or analyst experience
+ Demonstrated competence in negotiating skills and assessing supplier capability.
+ Strong project management and data analytics skills with the capability to drive initiatives across multiple regions/geographies.
+ Experience in mechanical commodity sourcing preferred.
+ Candidate must have demonstrated experience coordinating, facilitating discussions, consultation and conflict resolution skills.
+ Professional communication; both verbal and written are required.
+ Ability to travel up to 33%
