Commodity Manager
The job function of the **Commodity Manager, Indirect** is to be the primary point of contact between Omnicell and our indirect suppliers, service providers, and internal cross-functional stakeholders. The **Commodity Manager** is responsible for the development of the commodity strategy, planning and coordination of all aspects of the relationship with assigned suppliers and service providers. Additionally, the Commodity Manager is the go-to Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all 3rd party service agreements used throughout Omnicell. This position is a remote position with a preference for candidates based in: Pittsburgh, PA, St Petersburg, FL, or Austin, TX. **Essential Functions:** In order to work effectively as a **Commodity Manager, Indirect,** the position is expected to: + Reporting to Global Sourcing organization, the Commodity Manager works directly with assigned Service Providers and suppliers, to address continuous improvements within in the areas of quality, cost, delivery and support. The Commodity Manager will serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert with assigned suppliers, managing the overall supplier relationship and value chain. + Scope: Accountability for IT (software, Hardware, Cloud, AI, Telecom, IT services), HR, Engineering, Marketing, outsourced services and Facilities MRO with support across Omnicell’s global Indirect network where applicable. Annual Spend: $100M. + Bring innovation in : Maintain knowledge of global market trends including analysis of market drivers, cost structures, technical improvements, new products, best practices, benchmarks and end-of-life plans for the respective commodities assigned. + IT category specifics : Good knowledge of IT Industry, including consulting services, Cloud services, on shore / offshore licensing services and negotiation practices. + Contracts: Leads contract development and negotiation with suppliers, with support from the legal team. Acts as the primary point of contact with assigned suppliers, responsible for ensuring that all issues are resolved in a timely manner. Ensures compliance with all Licensing Agreements as well as all contractual Terms and Conditions. + Sourcing: Runs RFP with stakeholders, identify new sources of supply, evaluate new suppliers / service providers, perform pre-assessments, and complete any follow-up activities required for supplier qualification to develop a supplier base sufficiently robust to meet the defined business requirements. + Supply Base: Uses inputs from internal Product Marketing, Engineering, IT, Manufacturing, Field Service, Legal, and Business leaders to develop and implement a commodity strategy to identify long term supply/supplier alignment. Ensure a competitive sourcing environment leading to continuous improvement in quality, cost, inventory, service and technology among our supplier panel. Develop, Enhance and Cultivate appropriate internal collaborative relationships built on defined cross-functional business objectives as required + Performance: Establish standard processes to collect and monitor supplier performance, quality, cost, and work with appropriate parties to ensure contract compliance, accountability and resolve any related issues. Generates supplier scorecard metrics and initiate Quarterly Business Review (QDCS) agenda items. **Required Knowledge and Skills** : + BS/BA in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Materials Management, Engineering or Technical Studies (or 5+ years directly related experience) + 3 - 5+ years Sourcing experience in Indirect Sourcing covering IT, HR, Marketing, Consulting and outsourced Services. **Preferred Knowledge and Skills:** + Ability to engage with stakeholders from various backgrounds and hierarchical levels + Analytical skills, and ability to switch from strategic perspective to tactical actions. + Ability to define priorities and focus on value delivery in a complex environment. + Proven knowledge of 3rd Party Services Management, Contract Negotiations and Compliance + Demonstrated strong capability to drive change via collaboration across organizational levels, regional and global geographies and business entities + Solid understanding of current software, computer hardware and Consulting trends, markets, and price indexing, with in-depth knowledge of Domestic and Global suppliers + Strong leadership and communication skills that enable a strong Supplier Relationship Management process + ERP/MRP (SAP) knowledge + Experience working in highly matrixed organization and delivering results Work Conditions: Remote working capability Medium travel (5%, in the US) Since 1992, Omnicell has been committed to transforming pharmacy care through outcomes-centric innovation designed to optimize clinical and business outcomes across all settings of care.
