Commodity Manager

Leading the strategic sourcing activities, including defining and implementing the supply chain strategy for the
Cluj/Manchester plants, in accordance with Emerson's global standard processes in strategic sourcing and meeting the business needs.
**In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:**
+ Develop a strategy for the commodity and put policies in place to ensure strategy is implemented and maintained
+ Assess supplier capability, capacity, cost structure, and performance against targets
+ Prepare and evaluate electronic RFQs
+ Implement category strategies to reach annual targets for timely delivery performance, lead time, payment terms, cost savings, supplier consolidation
+ Run sourcing projects by negotiating commercial terms and conditions with the suppliers: price lists, discounts, rebates, payment terms, RDSL, contracts, mitigate price increase requests within the delegation of authority.
+ Ensure reliability of supply by resolve supply issues and develop supply chain risk mitigation and contingency plans, to improve material availability.
+ Supplier performance. Conduct regular reviews with key suppliers for driving continuous improvements. Manage relationships with preferred suppliers
+ Performs total cost analysis to identify improvement opportunities for low-performing suppliers
+ Be point of escalation for the tactical purchasing team and operations for recurring and brought-up supplier performance issues like deliveries and quality, supporting plant needs.
+ Coordinates collaboration efforts between suppliers and tactical purchasing, engineering, and quality to drive initiatives that will ensure material availability

**For This Role, You Will Need:**
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering, Business or Supply Chain Management required
+ Minimum of 5 years functional experience in one or more of the following areas: Supply, Engineering or Operations
+ Work experience in a manufacturing engineered-to-order environment
+ Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
+ Good IT skills (Microsoft Office)

+ SAP/Oracle knowledge
+ Matrix organization experience preferred
+ Ability to work independently, respect deadlines, prioritize multiple tasks, and work towards results
+ Technical understanding
