Job Description

The Purchasing department of Robert Bosch in Midrand is looking to employ a Commodity Buyer as part of their team.

Duties will include but are not limited to the following:

Develop and implement category strategies for Facilities Management and IT within the Sub-Saharan RegionTo conduct comprehensive spend analysis to identify key areas for improvementDrive innovation and development within the categoryIdentify and engage with strategic suppliers to enhance the supplier strategyLead sourcing projects and initiatives for the category, ensuring alignment with business goalsEvaluate supplier performance and ensure they deliver value beyond cost, such as innovation, quality, and sustainabilityWork closely with internal stakeholders to align category strategies with business objectivesDevelop long-term partnerships with key suppliersEstablish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the category, continuously assessing and improving performanceDemonstrate in-depth knowledge of the category and industry trendsExhibit strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with excellent project management and leadership skillsUtilize proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools to drive category performanceInfluence and drive change within the organization to achieve long-term category growth and developmentEnhance value from supplier relationships, fostering continuous improvement and driving innovation within the category

 

Qualifications

Education

University degree in economic/commercial sciences or related fieldA post-graduate purchasing or supply chain management qualification would be advantageousCIPS Level 4 completion would be an advantage Strong IT skills in MS Office packages Good communications skills on all levels, fluency in English essential

Experience 

Minimum of 5 years working experience in a comparable multi-national company in a similar roleComputer literate with very good skills in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, OutlookExcellent knowledge of SAP system
