JOB SUMMARY: Assists Production Manager in managing all production, efficiency & productivity of the manufacturing plant across multiple shifts, departments and line assemblies, to manufacture products that meet established quality, customer service, safety, sanitation, innovation and cost metrics consistent with schedules and policies; implements work standards and maintains improvement through sustaining behaviors, operating with discipline and rigor, oversees the production of quality products to fulfill customer requirements; controls and effectively utilizes the production capacity, labor and equipment and outside resources through planning, organizing and scheduling to maximize efficiency; works within the framework of the budget to optimize company profitability. This position reports directly to the production Manager and will work under limited supervision. Accountable for all efficiency & productivity matrixes of the Production facility, including food safety, cost of goods, labor cost, operational cost. This position leads by example. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assists Production Manager in implementing daily production scheduling of entire facility. Under the direction of Production Manager, works in specific areas, prep rooms or assembly lines as designated by production Manager. Responsible for the safety and well-being of plant associates. Responsible to oversee internal infrastructure of Plant and takes decisive corrective action when required. Responsible for keeping the work area or assembly line in optimum sanitation condition and ensures that all SOP’s, HACCP & SSOP’s are executed as planned. Ensures that the Food Safety & Quality Assurance programs are executed and ensures that Plant operates at optimum conditions according to GFSI regulations & industry standards. Implements and executes the manufacturing process and acts as the process executioner in all Plant’s areas. Support in overseeing Quality Assurance/Sanitation team tasks. Assists production manager in all warehousing, shipping, and receiving of raw materials and finished goods and ensures that all receiving, and shipping happens according to plan. Follow approved commissary department plans for effective space management based on product movement, consumer demand and profitability. Check and verify commissary cocina department receiving to ensure that items listed on vendor invoices are all delivered; check products for quality, count or weight, and condition. Control department expenses and utilize energy conservation practices. Handle damaged and spoiled products according to company policy and assist in controlling the level of damaged goods. Perform gross margin calculations and assist in determining the correct pricing to be used on each commissary cocina department item based on the department's targeted sales and gross profit goals. Be familiar with invoice documents and confirm accuracy of item descriptions, sizes, quantities and pricing during department product deliveries; record invoice documents accurately on the receiving log and place signed invoice in the designated secured area; ensure all transfers are recorded. Follow approved procedures for receiving product, price marking and restocking to ensure quality protection, accuracy and product rotation. Assist in ordering merchandise and maintain inventory control to minimize out‑of‑stocks and over‑stocks and to maximize sales and turnover. Observe the norms of hygiene, health and safety in the work areas; clean all food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils; maintain general housekeeping and sanitation standards in compliance with store policy and state and local health regulations on a regular, ongoing basis. Follow planned program of maintenance on cases, back room coolers, and other equipment. Use and maintain equipment in good working order. Collaborate with coworkers to ensure that the department positively contributes to the financial interest of the company; maintain good communications in the department and throughout the organization; assist in training associates when requested or directed to do so. Notify department manager of personnel situations or policy violations having an adverse effect on store operating performance or of situations requiring disciplinary action or that may potentially require such action. Perform any other work-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS AND CONDITIONS:
Education/Experience
High school diploma required. Minimum two years’ experience in a food products retail environment.Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data. Establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Willing to learn Oracle system to assist on daily tasks for Production.Computer Skills:
Basic knowledge in Word, Excel & Power point.Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

Be able to perform arithmetical calculations at the eighth‑grade level in order to correctly mix all products and such needed to prepare all the food products. Be able to verify vendor invoice charges and counts, and complete required accounting reports including inventory, receiving, and variations in cash or column totals. Ability to hear, speak and understand the spoken word in order to respond promptly to pages for assistance, to accommodate verbal requests from customers for information or assistance, to answer telephones, and to be able to communicate effectively with others. Ability to read, write, analyze, interpret and understand the English/Spanish language with sufficient proficiency in order to read and understand: instructions for operating electronic equipment and tools company handbooks, policies and procedures other written job‑related documents including postings on company bulletin boards. Be fully knowledgeable and thoroughly familiar with all products carried in the department. Be able to handle special orders or requests; ability to follow a specified menu. Ability to work independently with little supervision; must be an example of Northgate values. Must possess knowledge of how to prepare food products and how to use the utensils and equipments within the kitchen; ability to operate a great deal of cocina equipment. Be able to tolerate moderate amounts of dust and chemical fumes from common household cleaning agents such as ammonia during routine housekeeping duties.
