A Commis II – Banquet Chinese assists in the preparation and cooking of high-quality Chinese cuisine for banquet events, ensuring consistency, flavour, and presentation meet hotel standards. This role supports senior chefs, maintains kitchen hygiene, and contributes to smooth banquet operations in a fast-paced environment.

What will I be doing? 

\n

As the Commis II – Banquet Chinese, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards: 

\n\nFollow standard recipes and presentation guidelines for consistency and quality.\nMaintain the freshness and authenticity of Chinese ingredients and cooking techniques.\nPrepare food for guests and team members efficiently, economically, and hygienically as per standard recipes and procedures. \nSupport the Sous Chef or the Chef de Partie in ensuring smooth operation of the kitchen and prompt service at all times. \nPlan, prepare and implement high quality food and beverage products and set-ups in the restaurant. \nMaintain all HACCP aspects within the hotel’s operation.  \nUse all equipment, tools and machines appropriately. \nWork on off-site events when tasked. \nAssist in inventory taking. \nEffectively respond to every guest’s feedback. \nMaintain at all times a professional and positive attitude towards team members and supervisors. \nAdhere to established hotel rules and team member handbook, ensuring all team members under your supervision do so as well for the department to operate smoothly. \nAttend and actively participate in all training sessions. \nUnderstand, practice and promote good teamwork to achieve missions, goals, and overall departmental standards. \nCarry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned. \nThe Management reserves the right to make changes to this job description at its sole discretion and without advance notice. \n

What are we looking for?

A Commis II – Banquet Chinese serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow: 

\n\nJunior Middle School graduate or above.  \nPrevious experience in a Chinese banquet kitchen or restaurant is preferred.\nPossess a valid health certificate. \nGood knowledge of Western or Chinese cuisine. \nAble to work with and consume all products and ingredients. \nWork well in stressful situations, remain calm under pressure and able to solve problems. \nTechnical education in hospitality or culinary school preferred. \nKnowledge in HACCP preferred. \nGood command in English, both verbal and written to meet business needs, preferred. \n\n
