The Commercial Operations Leader, Japan is responsible for Japan end-to-end supply chain, warehousing logistic distribution and customer service organization with key deliverables on OTD, Inventory QIT, Operational Cost (freight & warehousing), DC operational efficiency in supporting customers and operational excellence. This position provides an opportunity to learn commercial execution and Danaher Business System.

This position reports to the Commercial Operations Leader, APAC and is part of the Global Commercial Operations team located in Tokyo, Japan and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure smooth and effective communication and partnerships within local and APAC commercial operations team and other functional partners such as Sales, Manufacturing plants, Finance, Legal, etc…Be responsible for the efficient, effective and customer-focused operation of Quote-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay and Warehouse management such as customer orders management, backlog management with supply, finished goods procurement, orders fulfillment including warehousing & logistic distribution (import/export), and order billing.Be responsible for the forecasting and achievement of Japan annual revenue shipment target together with Sales.Drive conversion of available inventory (on-hand stocks & GIT) into revenue shipment. Mitigate any blocks through customer engagement and where needed through sales & support from other functions.Drive operational excellence and continually improve the commercial end-to-end processes using DBS tools to enable business growth and remove waste, collaborating with sales and business unit partners.Implement and sustain standard global processes considering the specifics of business in Japan (i.e. Order to cash process/ import/export control, VAT, etc.).Personally, supporting associates to ensure Safety and Compliance policies upheld.

The essential requirements of the job include:

Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years work experience in Commercial Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Logistic and Distribution, or similar fields.Leadership and supervisory experience in prior operational role (customer service, supply chain, logistics and distribution operations).Strong people manager, team leadership skills and team player.  Conflict management and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication, collaboration, influence without direct authority, and ability to effectively inspire change.Clear communicator with strong verbal and writing skills in English and Japanese local language.  Additional language skills would be an advantage.Solid understanding of ERP processes and systems, significant preference for SAP®

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Solid experience in leading a team with proven expertise in running Commercial Operations function across Japan (Order entry, customer order management, Supply Chain, trade compliance, operations, logistics Warehousing).Good cross functional understanding of processes such as Sales, Marketing, Finance, manufacturing, compliance, ITOutstanding interpersonal skills with ability to form relationships and influence multiple diverse, remote, international teams and individuals within the team as well as cross-functionally with other teams such as Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, Logistics, Marketing, Finance, QA, Legal and Contract Management, and IT.Proactive data driven problem solver who can help teams reduce complex situations to enable progress, enable end-to-end process, and drive to sustainable results; continuous improvement mentality and use of DBS tools.Knowledge of B2B standard methodologies and strategies in a global business environment.Prior experience in Sales, Purchasing, Accounting/Controlling, Logistics/warehousing, manufacturing or similar is a plus.
