The Position
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated individual to join us as a Director within Commercial Operations for Korea.
Key Responsibilities Will Include
Drive Sales & Marketing alignment and efficiency via closely working with Business Unit Head (BUD), including:Evaluate Brand / Marketing message execution status and provide recommendationEnforce event/ activity execution and follow-upImplements strategic policies for sales event such as event execution methods, cooperation model and evaluation criteria for obtaining resultsDefines implements and monitors the productivity indicators used in measuring sales performance and efficiencyEvaluates territory level workloads/ situations to make appropriate recommendations, under the umbrella of Gilead Korea co-promotion working model, to strengthen cooperation with local distributor teamsWork with local commercial BUD and regional commercial operation team, oversees benchmarking of sales force incentive/ compensation levels to ensure competitiveness of incentive/ compensation programsProvides reliable and accurate analyses and reports (i.e. IMS, market research), to influence decision-making on key strategies and recommends ways to optimize sales force utilization and effectiveness based on analytical findingsOwns data and reporting needs for an area of concentration, collaborates with various Gilead Korea functions, to analyze operational requirements for reports and runs monthly and quarterly processing to support Commercial TeamsProvides ongoing support to field sales; recommends ways to develop methodology to optimize physician or managed care coverageCommercial Developments Develops, analyzes the characteristics of existing technologies with their use in instructional design and implements relevant training programs for sales team and additional affiliated employees as neededDevelops, design of curricula or programs and executes training on selling skills, product knowledge, new promotional campaigns, sales meeting training workshops & other ad hoc Sales Force needsCollaborates with and supports relevant internal departments, including Marketing, Commercial (Management Team, Sales Force and Regional Trainers), Commercial Operations, Medical Information, Legal and Business Conduct to develop appropriate training with cross-functional feedback before finalizing design and strategyParticipates with other leaders to establish highly complex strategic plans and objectives.Drive alignment and follow-through on key strategic initiatives by coordinating across functions, preparing executive updates, and ensuring critical milestones are met Streamline business operations by identifying bottlenecks, improving processes, and enabling faster, data-driven decisions by fostering cross-functional collaboration and ensuring clarity of priorities across leadership teamRegularly meets with executives, major internal customers, and/or strategic partners to report analytical findings or projections on forecasting, inventory management, salesforce effectiveness or other performance indicators.Provides support to Regional Business Leads and Commercial Operations team on defining assumptions, generating regional inputs and outputs, monitoring key sales performance indicators and recommending changes to achieve productivity goals.Cooperates well within Gilead matrix organization - Medical Manager, Market Access Manager, Logistic Manager, Finance manager, Business Conduct and Legal Managers etc. including Regional Brand Leaders in order to maximize business opportunities across therapeutic areas. Frequently interacts with other functions to optimize collaboration between the department and other groups. Independently makes evaluations of how the department can best support other groups.Benchmarks and compares Gilead sales forces with direct competitors on productivity parameters, customer service, compensation levels and overall performance.Participates in assessment of job responsibilities and performance for key sales force positions to remain competitive within current market dynamics and aligned with business unit priorities.May participate in the development and implementation of training programs for junior employees to address gaps and improve overall department capabilities.Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs and people.Responsible for selecting, reviewing, recommending primary and secondary market research agencies, proposing MR projects and implementation steps based on MR results.Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.Supports GM in developing business frameworks and related analytical processes based on the needs of the Company’s senior management, Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Finance and Manufacturing functions.Presents recommendations and findings to various stakeholders within the Commercial organization.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required in order to provide clear and concise analysis of quantitative and qualitative concepts.Must have excellent marketing & sales knowledge.Must have excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills along with excellent influencing and negotiating skills.Is familiar with industry trends and remains current with competitor’s resources and practices.Must be able to analyze highly complex data and put together concise reports while meeting all deadlines.Must be able to develop, maintain, and utilize a high level of product and therapeutic disease knowledge to promote the appropriate use of Gilead products to Key Opinion Leaders.Must have an extensive understanding of relevant marketplace for their role.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word is also required.Good knowledge and experiences in AI related technology would be highly desirableMust be fluent in conversational and written English.
Education and Experience Requirements
Typically requires University degree, 8-10 years pharmaceutical/healthcare industry experience, which includes 8 years sales and marketing experience.
