ROLE SUMMARY
The Manager – Commercial is responsible for coordinating with buyers as well as supporting purchases for MAF Retail. The role holder is also responsible for assisting with selection and examining products that get to store shelves, in catalogues, and online.

ROLE PROFILE

Implement sourcing strategies that align with the product strategy for women’s textile collections, ensuring timely availability and optimal stock levels in stores.Conduct ongoing market research to stay updated on textile trends and consumer preferences, supporting product innovation and competitive positioning.Lead annual negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, focusing on quality, pricing, and long-term value creation.Manage the tendering and RFQ processes in coordination with internal teams to ensure alignment with business needs and timelines.Develop and execute promotional plans, including discount strategies, to support seasonal campaigns and drive sales performance.Monitor supplier performance through audits and quality checks, ensuring compliance with company standards and continuous improvement.Analyze procurement data to reduce shortages and overstocking, implementing control strategies that enhance operational efficiency.Collaborate with sales and merchandising teams to ensure sourcing decisions reflect market demand and support the overall commercial strategy.

REQUIREMENTS

Proven experience in commercial sourcing or procurement within the textile or fashion retail industry.Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable supplier agreements and managing annual contract renewals.In-depth knowledge of textile market trends, with the ability to translate insights into product strategy.Experience in planning and executing promotional campaigns, including discount strategies aligned with seasonal retail cyclesProficiency in managing tendering and RFQ processes, with strong coordination skills across internal departments.Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret procurement data and implement inventory control strategies.
