The Commercial Loan Closer is responsible for accurately setting up the customer, facility, loan, and collateral in the core banking system, in addition to closing Commercial loans in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures. This includes working with the line of business, attorneys and various loan operations departments to ensure loan closings takes place as scheduled. The Commercial Loan Closer will also be responsible for the quality control and system review to ensure all loans are documented in accordance with the loan approval and the bank’s established guidelines. The Commercial Loan Closer will ensure loan closing packages are received back timely in addition to ensuring exceptions are cited accurately for deficient documents.
Key Responsibilities:
·Orders and compiles loan documents in preparation for closing; works in conjunction with regionally assigned Relationship Managers, attorneys and title companies to execute requests and to ensure timely responses.
·Establish and onboard borrowers, guarantors, facilities, loans, collateral and fees on the core commercial loan system in accordance with the credit agreement.
·Performs quality reviews of Commercial loan files for accuracy as it relates to compliance with bank loan policies and procedures to assist in identifying training needs.
·Knowledgeable in all aspects of Commercial loan documentation, understanding of legal entities and loan documents such as notes, security agreements, loan/credit agreements, etc.
·Reviews final documents for completion and accuracy and ensures credit approval memo, loan approval system and credit agreement are consistent.
Competencies Required:
·Extensive knowledge of commercial and business banking loans with a strong understanding of accounting principles, loan processing procedures, and related regulations.
·Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint) and ability to navigate loan and bank software applications and related websites.
·Excellent organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail and concern for accuracy.
·Excellent customer service skills with the ability to effectively research and resolve issues and discrepancies.
·Ability to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external parties.
·Solid analytical and decision-making skills.
