Commercial Lines Account Manager, Construction

About The Role

We’re looking for a seasoned Commercial Insurance Account Manager to join the dynamic and tight-knit team in our construction practice. In this role, the AM would be supported by a team of knowledgeable brokers for servicing and placement of policies. This role directly reports to the Operations Manager. This is a contract role and it ends on December 26, 2025.

What You’ll Do

Day to day management of our in-house and well-established Industrial & Commercial Roofing Program, including Liability policies, Builders’ Risk, Property, Wrap-Up’s, Contractors’ Pollution, and Auto coveragesHandling new business, renewal underwriting, liaising with Lloyd’s Underwriters, and preparation of proposals.Acting as a resource to other staff members for contract reviews and construction-related questionsBuilding relationships with sub-brokers across Canada and writing business in the industries and programs we developInvolvement with other program development and marketing initiatives.Development of sell sheets, application forms and other documents for current and future programs

What You’ll Need for Success

CAIB, CIP preferred. RIBO (Ontario Broker’s license) and Quebec broker’s license an asset but not a requirement2-3 years of Commercial Insurance in the Construction Industry and product line experienceExperience delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needsKnowledge of construction insurance documents (CCDC)Strong customer service focus with the ability to deliver positive customer experiencesProfessional communication and strong interpersonal skillsSelf-starter and strong team player able to work within Production and Service teamsEffective organizational skills and time managementWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word and Excel).Ability to learn and understand new systems quickly; TAM fluency is an asset.
