Commercial Lines Account Associate, Financial Institutions

About The Role

HUB International in Toronto, Ontario is currently looking for a strong Commercial Lines Account Associate to support our growing Commercial Financial Institutions Practice focused on an assigned commercial book of business with renewals throughout the year. This is an ideal role for individual interested in the investment business and specialty lines with strong customer delivery, organized and proactive.  This role will work closely with the Assistant Vice President, Financial Institutions and work with clients at the CFO and CEO level. 

An ideal candidate for this position will be someone who prides themselves on their top notch client service. This role will be ideal for someone who is highly organized with strong analytical and communication skills, sense of urgency, and the ability to meet often tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will be able to think on their feet and come up with creative solutions to coverage problems and have a strong client service focus.

What You’ll Do

Effective communication with large asset management clients and multinational companies.Respond to third party information requests, (i.e. auditors, OSC and other regulatory requests etc.)Day to day activities for clients and prospectsExecution of insurance certificates, leasing confirmations, auto liability slips, binders, statement of values, proposals, and processing of client documents (endorsements and policies) within timelines aligned with established service standardsCalculating provincial taxes, preparing premium finance quotes etc.Ensure the timely issuance of submissions, binders, summaries, policiesDetailed policy proofing and fact checking of legal contractsClient invoicingMaintaining effective abeyance system aligned with established service standardsSetting up clients and prospects into Epic brokerage management systemLoading Policy and Underwriting Information into EpicUpdating rate/premium histories and premium comparisons; calculation of PST, Invoicing, processing of journal entries, execution of premium finance forms, collection of aged receivables, as required, and correction of commission differencesMaintain/Update Summary of Insurance (update as policy changes occur and at renewal)Answering client queries, communicating with insurance companiesInput claims in broker management systemUpdate claims history on summariesResearch or project requestsProvide assistance where required and perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications and expertise that pave the way for Success

RIBO Licensed or able to obtain in short orderCanadian Securities Course (CSC) an assetAdministrative experience within legal or accounting department an assetProficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and OutlookExperience on Epic or similar insurance broker management systems an assetStrong organizational, time and client management skillsEffective communication skills: verbal and writtenStrong team playerProactive and customer focused approachStrong initiative and follow up skills
