Commercial Kitchen Technician 2

Start Rate: $26.50/hour | Full-Time | Variable

Job Summary: The Commercial Kitchen Technician is responsible for technical diagnostics and performs specialized repairs on several commercial grade food service appliances, equipment and systems including refrigeration and freezer units and compressors, dish machines, disposals, gas ovens, grills, and other electrical, electronic and mechanical devices. You will report to the Manager.

Primary Tasks:

1.  You will perform scheduled and unplanned repairs on all commercial kitchen equipment and appliances.

2.  Work to complete open and outstanding work orders through CMMS.

3.  Perform preventive maintenance inspections on all commercial kitchen equipment and appliances.

4.  Maintain, service and repair of ice machines, refrigeration units, walk-in refrigerators and freezers.

5.  You will maintain, service and repair of exhaust and makeup air systems

6.  Contact and coordinate work with outside vendors and coordinate all activities and repairs with supervisory personnel.

7.  Identify operating challenges that lead to kitchen equipment failure in restaurants and kitchens.

8.  Detect, repair, and document activity and report on improper faulty equipment.

9.  Respond to service order requests.

10.  Follow safety procedures and OSHA regulations.

11.  Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

Familiar with basic computer programs (Word, Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), PowerPoint)

Knowledge of and experience with basic hand tools and testing devices

Have EPA Type I & II or Universal certification or be able to obtain.

Experience with Gas, Electric and Steam equipment

Experience with refrigeration equipment in a commercial kitchen

Five (5) years training in a commercial kitchen environment

Effectively organize time to complete tasks.
