Commercial Finance Analyst- FMCG

About the Role:

We are looking for a Commercial Finance Analyst who can go beyond accounting to become a strategic thought partner to leadership and sales teams. This role will be central to driving insight into pricing, margins, promotions, stock performance, and customer/channel profitability.

You will work directly with the business owner, and help professionalize and streamline financial visibility and commercial decisions across divisions.

This is not a traditional accounting role. This is for someone who wants to use numbers to shape strategy.
 

What You’ll Do:

Build and automate channel/SKU/customer-level P&Ls and margin analysis Analyze returns, promotions, and distribution costs to assess true profitability Partner with sales/category teams to evaluate promo ROI, pricing, and reorders Track and explain budget vs actuals, helping business heads stay on target Design and deliver management reports/dashboards in Excel or Power BI Scrutinize value chains with proper costing analysis Conduct pricing analysis in light of sellout data Support forecasting and planning processes across both divisions Create and structure SOPs that ensure financial discipline and accountability Collaborate closely with the accounting team to bridge operations and finance Provide ad-hoc analysis to support board-level decisions and investments

Who You Should Be:

Minimum 3–6 years of experience in FP&A, Commercial Finance, or Business Partnering, ideally in an FMCG or consumer goods environment Strong Excel skills; familiarity with ERP systems and reporting tools (e.g. Odoo) Highly analytical and detail-oriented, yet commercially savvy Able to challenge assumptions and communicate data-driven insights to non-finance stakeholders Someone who thrives in entrepreneurial, fast-moving environments Bonus: experience with distribution models, modern trade, or travel retail
