The Commercial Director role is accountable for leading the sales organization across Portugal in the design and execution of outstanding commercial plans to build and drive a growth agenda in both the On and Off-Trade channels and will also lead our Customer Marketing team.

Drives collaboration and commitment at all stages of the value chain, negotiating for win-win outcomes and competitive advantage.Segmentation of customers and outlets to prioritize resources and win in the market.Differentiated customer strategies to drive performance and identify growth opportunities, ensuring the best use of customer investment and controllable overheadsDetermining the most effective ‘Route to Consumer’ (RTC) strategy to drive speed, efficiency and effectivenessExecution of trade terms, pricing strategies and promotional effectiveness to create a profitable and sustainable outcomeLeading the Customer Marketing team to create high impact category and brand plans aimed at driving penetration and based on strong category, competitor and market insightsSegmented focus to drive, in partnership with our Reserve team, growth in the value of the premium portfolio in GreeceAbility to identify and rapidly commercialize opportunities for category or brand innovation, with a defined proportion of our trade investment focused on innovation and growth (and fully integrated with customer plans)Working closely with the Diageo Corporate Affairs team to ensure continued engagement with Government, NGOs and other key opinion-former stakeholders in support of our corporate reputation, social responsibility and Alcohol in Society agendaWell-orchestrated selling teams who are focused on both the ‘sell-in’ and ‘sell-out’ of our brands and who are delivering exceptional results for customersDetermination of forecast and forward investment plan for the channel, assigning appropriate resources and putting in place performance metricsExploits the opportunities presented by annual tourism season by having in place appropriate resource and exceptional customer plansStrong understanding of the external environment, able to anticipate trends and factor them into our plansEffective use of consumer and shopper insights to drive breakthrough thinkingMember of Commercial Southern Europe leadership team, helping to drive a positive culture and making Diageo a great place to workDemonstrates and role models the Diageo behaviours and values.
