Commercial Director 

About the role 

Four Seasons Resort and Private Residences Vail is seeking a Commercial Director to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have exceptional talent and enthusiasm for strategic business development, direct sales (leisure, group, catering), revenue management as well as marketing (including branding/positioning), creative/content, paid/earned/owned media (including digital, public relations), and public relations with strategic foresight and a proven record of accomplishment in Sales development. As a key member of the property leadership team, the Commercial Director will play a pivotal role in shaping strategic and operational decisions. 

What you will do:

The Commercial Director is an integral member of the property’s executive leadership team who directs and oversees all commercial activities with the support of teams including Sales, Catering, Conference Services, Public Relations, Marketing Communications and Revenue Management to ensure that all activities and bookings are focused to yield maximum revenue per room occupied and all property revenue centers.  The Commercial Director must be able to execute and effectively communicate strategies and tactics employed to all key stakeholders, including Ownership, the property team, and Four Seasons Corporate Office. This role is based in Vail and will be considered hybrid or remote (location dependent). 

What you bring: 

Three to five years of previous experience as a Commercial Director, Director of Marketing or similar, with a proven record of accomplishment in sales and business development. 

Four-year university or college degree or equivalent experience. 

Action-orientation, forward-looking, broad in scope, and a pro-active drive to achieve goals through involvement with others.  A strong sense of urgency, initiative, and competitive drive to influence others in a collaborative way.   

Inspiring communication and interpersonal skills - along with meaningful delegation and relationship building skills – ensure strong leadership. 

Effective revenue cultivation and budget management skills, strategic vision, and the ability to communicate effectively with Ownership. 

Systems experience preferred with Golden Sales & Catering, IDeaS, Power BI, RevFinder, and Opera. 

Ability to motivate others through social poise, warmth, and friendliness. 

Creative flair for marketing; ability to design, develop and deliver effective presentations required. 

Available to travel as needed for business to include international trips.  

Work authorization in the United States required.

Salary range: $170k - $190k annually.

Schedule & Hours: 

This is a full-time position.  

A successful candidate will have a flexible schedule, and the ability to work morning, afternoon and evening shifts, weekends, and holidays.
