Job Description:

At Regions, the Commercial Corporate Finance and Syndications Product Lead position is focused on originating revenue generating opportunities and fee income within Regions Capital Markets. The Product Lead will conduct business development activities to identify and source broader capital markets transactions for existing clients and prospects of the firm’s Commercial Banking group. The Product Lead’s primary role is to advise commercial banking clients and prospects on a range of capital markets transactions, including capital raising, M&A, and financial risk management. Regarding capital raising specifically, the Product Lead’s primary role also includes leading negotiations, structuring, legal documentation and execution of debt financing transactions for acquisitions, growth capital, recapitalizations, restructurings and leveraged buyouts.

Generates strong revenue production over a sustained period of timeLeads proactive idea generationDevelops internal and external client relationshipsPartners with Regions’ relationship managers to bring proactive ideas/insights to clients and identifies strategic advisory opportunitiesPresents capital markets recommendations to existing clients and prospectsLeads debt financing processes from initial engagement through closing, including negotiating, structuring, financial modeling and legal documentationParticipates in the education of relationship managers on advisory opportunities and product solutionsCommunicates and partners with core and extended client team membersTrains junior team members on transaction structuring and executionParticipates in the recruitment, development and training of junior resources

Extensive travel is required. In office 4-5 days per week when not traveling for client meetings.


This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

This position is incentive eligible. 

RequirementsBachelor's degree from a reputable undergraduate college/universitySeven (7) years experience in capital markets, leveraged finance, and/or investment banking (i.e. M&A)Should have Series 79 & 63 licenses OR be able to obtain them within six (6) months of employmentSkills and CompetenciesProven ability to originate, structure, and execute capital markets businessEffective partnership with the broader Syndicated Finance team and Loan Sales team when executing syndications opportunitiesCapable of identifying and qualifying M&A and financial risk management opportunities for referral to the respective business unitsExposure to ISDA standardsEfficient and effective resource management related to new opportunities including resource deployment for pitches, screens, and deal approvalsBroad knowledge of the capital markets and current trendsDeep understanding of the syndicated loan market, including current trends and market normsExceptional analytical and quantitative skills, including extensive credit acumenStrong credit selectivity skills in-line with Regions’ risk management parameters and guidelines, especially regarding leveraged/sponsored opportunitiesAbility to champion/present credit to risk management and the transaction screening committee without material senior level oversightProven track record and credibility with risk management partners showing appropriate stewardship of capitalCredibility with industry banking teams, the financial risk management team, and BlackArch/Clearsight professionalsRobust legal documentation expertiseStrong negotiation, written, verbal and interpersonal skillsPositive management/leadership skills and principlesEffective ability to lead by example and manage a deal team, including an established record of training/mentoring VPs, Associates, and Analysts in all aspects of capital markets process management and financial/credit analysis

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

$181,584.48 USD

Median:

$280,045.50 USD

Incentive Pay Plans:

This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive plan. Employees have the potential to receive a discretionary award based on performance against defined metrics and goals.Opportunity to participate in the Long Term Incentive Plan.
