Role Overview
We are looking for a Strategic Initiatives and Market Development Senior Manager who is pivotal in supporting and executing the growth and development of the Strategic Initiatives within the Infusion Therapies & Technologies segment in WE (Western Europe)
This role is designed primarily to increase our ‘indirect compounding’ network and capacity across Europe utilising Baxter knowledge, expertise, stakeholders where appropriate to develop additional external Baxter compounding partners and / or enhance key hospital compounding facilities capacity to utilise Baxter products.
As part of the Growth Strategy this role will provide a high level of technical expertise regarding Quality and Operations, as well as commercial knowhow and business awareness. The role is intended to support the more commercially focused team members by providing Subject Matter Expert (SME) input into a variety of projects and lead specific initiatives where a high level of regulatory, compliance and operational knowledge is critical.
This role will be focused on, but not limited to:
Identifying potential partnership opportunities in the external compounding space to expand the ITT compounding network and increase channels to market.Ensuring that current and future regulatory/market access expectations and guidelines can be understood and met. Clear communication on the implications, with recommendations for WEU markets and cross-functional initiatives.Reviewing and assessing opportunities for new technology, including automation, digital software and AI and how this can be commercialised or used internally in Baxter facilities in conjunction with external partners where required.When needed, provide operational support to ensure the right product is delivered in the right way at the right time. Engage with commercial, supply chain and production across raw materials and finished goods.Interfacing and collaborating with the pharmaceutical segment to maximise business opportunities across One Baxter.This role is intended for an experienced and versatile Talent, who is able to influence in a matrix environment across various stakeholders both internal and external, including Quality\Regulatory bodies, Technically orientated clients such as Pharmacy or Hospital service teams, External compounding providers, Sales Team, Finance, Commercial & Operations Leaders, Medical, Project Managers, and IT (Information Technology) when applicable.
Travel
Variable between 30% and 60% based on the period. Target clusters/countries in the first 18 months will be UKIN cluster, Germany, Italy, Belgium and Spain.

70% UKIN, 30% rest of Western Europe
Responsibilities for this role include:
Provide input and consultancy into commercial activities including tenders; from initial shaping to successful award.Ensure profitability targets are met for appropriate portfolios, developing and initiating programs to improve our cost base.Lead Strategic Initiatives by identifying Team requirements, proposing Business cases, coordinating the Team, and providing appropriate updates to the Management when delivering the assigned Strategic Initiatives.Qualify and quantify the right resources based on each opportunity and ensure that are available for allocation, either internally or externally.Own the identification and oversee the performance of external contractors or other 3rd parties engaged by Baxter to deliver Strategic Initiatives/partnerships to expand our external compounding network.Provide consultancy support to external contractors or other 3rd parties engaged by Baxter during the implementation of new partnerships/service developments.Own the identification and oversee the addition of new stability data required to grow the ELastomerics business, ligned to the UK/European Pharmacopeia. Specific experience in use of Baxter stability data and liaising with Baxter R&D experts is advantageous.Job Requirements
At least 10 years first hand exposure to working in a Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology environment, with preference given to candidates with knowledge of Pharmacy Compounding, ‘Specials’ or equivalent processes, ideally by working in or managing operational units.University degree: Master’s/ PhD degree. Preference will be given to candidates with a Pharmacy degree or similar life sciences degree. Additional qualifications such as MSc Pharmaceutical Technology and Quality Assurance is desirable.Expertise, knowledge and understanding of PIC/S Pharmacy Products guidelines and EU GMP, including Annex 1 or other applicable AnnexesProven experience inAseptic CompoundingValidation of plant and equipmentSterile manufacturingQuality System design and implementationOperational support and providing quality and regulatory advice, including decision making regarding safety and efficacy of products (release and recall experience a bonus),Regulatory compliance, including liaison with Country Regulators and MoH and/or hosting auditsManagement, and manufacturing of drugs for human useFamiliar with technology, automation, artificial intelligence, process improvements and working out innovative solutions to problems.Familiar with the UK and European pharmacopeia.Determined Growth Mindset, pioneering and strong influencer of people, process and platforms.Digitally focussed and advanced.Proficiency in English (both written and verbal) is essential.Written and verbal fluency in other European languages is advantageous.Strong and project management skills and knowledge of PM and agile tools. Preferred project management qualification such as PRINCE2, Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt.Excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic consulting environment.Create and innovative thinking. Excellent stakeholder and change management skills.
