Commercial Brand Strategy Lead
Location: Boston HQ (US) The salary range for this position is $99,000 - $110,000 per year. The base salary offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Wayfair is seeking a strategic and customer-obsessed commercial brand strategist to translate our highest-priority commercial initiatives into compelling, customer-facing strategies and messaging. This highly cross-functional role sits at the intersection of brand, product, and customer experience, driving the go-to-market strategy for services, programs, and sub-brands that differentiate Wayfair in the home category. Reporting to the Global Head of Brand & Insights, you will act as an internal product marketer, owning the end-to-end strategy for a portfolio of commercial priorities, from defining positioning and value propositions to crafting customer journeys and partnering with creative, campaign, and product teams to bring them to life. What You’ll Do: + Own the commercial brand strategy for priority programs and services such as delivery, discovery, curation, and more. + Partner with cross-functional leaders to translate business goals into clear, differentiated customer value propositions and messaging frameworks. + Build end-to-end go-to-market strategies from positioning to channel-specific creative briefs ensuring a consistent and resonant customer experience across touchpoints. + Lead outbound engagement with stakeholders to build and maintain a commercial brand roadmap, aligning priorities across Marketing, Product, Service, and Merchandising. + Identify and recommend customer experience opportunities (e.g., custom upholstery) that strengthen program adoption and brand perception. + Develop sub-brand architecture, ensuring clarity of each brand and positioning for each. + Partner with Insights teams to translate customer journey research into actionable messaging and CX improvements. + Collaborate with Creative and Media partners to bring strategies to market, measuring performance and iterating based on results. Who You’ll Need: + 6+ years in brand strategy, product marketing, or go-to-market planning, preferably in retail, ecommerce, or consumer services. + Proven track record translating complex business strategies into compelling customer-facing narratives and experiences. + Strong strategic thinking with the ability to connect customer needs, brand positioning, and commercial priorities. + Experience partnering across marketing, product, and creative teams to bring strategies from concept to market. + Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, able to influence senior leaders and inspire cross-functional teams. + Analytical mindset with comfort using customer insights, performance data, and competitive analysis to refine strategy. + Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, balances strategic and tactical work, and operates with a bias for action. + Comfort managing multiple priorities and shifting seamlessly between long-term planning and near-term execution. Bonus if you have: + Experience in a platform business or large-scale retail environment. + Background in both brand and performance marketing contexts. + Familiarity with customer segmentation, brand architecture, or loyalty programs.
