Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, decisive, and fast-moving Commercial Auto Underwriter to join our team. This is a high-volume underwriting role, responsible for evaluating and binding a wide range of commercial auto risks quickly and accurately. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong understanding of commercial auto, and specialty auto programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and evaluate commercial auto submissions for eligibility, pricing, and coverage terms.
Underwrite risks in accordance with carrier guidelines and internal authority levels.
Bind coverage, issue quotes, and provide retail agents with timely communication and support.
Maintain underwriting discipline while balancing production and service expectations.
Develop strong relationships with retail agency partners to drive new business and renewals.
Collaborate with internal teams to streamline workflows and support service excellence.
Track production, quote turnaround time, and binding ratios to meet performance goals.
Stay up to date with market trends, carrier appetite, and program guidelines.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2–3 years of commercial auto underwriting experience (MGA or carrier side preferred).
Deep knowledge of transportation risks and industry trends.
Proven ability to manage a high volume of submissions with accuracy and urgency.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
