Level 1 – RC 15 – Includes White Film Evaporators (WFE), Chronical Dryer Blenders (CDD) and all lower levels.
Level 2 – RC 14 – All A-Level Vessel Assemblies, Clamp Top Heads and Drive Assembly, Move Equipment.
Level 3 – RC 12-13 – B-level Vessel Assembly.
Level 4 – RC 10 -11 – Small Parts Assembly, Valves, Bearings, Seals, All Internal Hydro’s of Vessels, Jacket’s Top Heads and Columns, Paint Applicator and Protective Coatings.
Level 5 – RC 9 -10 – All requirements identified below under RC9 Shipper Assembler.
Combo of Assembler A, 050 (12 & 14); Drive Parts Assembler, 141 (10); & Shipper/ Assembler, 140 (9) NOTE: Level 1 became RC15 on 1/1/2019.
Assembles mechanical/electrical or fabricated parts to produce subassemblies or completed production units. Disassembles, cleans and repairs parts or subassemblies returned from customers.
Must have full working knowledge and ability to operate overhead cranes, including special operating procedures for installing glass to glass.
Know proper sequence and procedures with the use of liquid nitrogen and the assembly and disassembly of single and/or dual flight Cry-O-Lock hubs. Have the ability to plan and implement different scaffolding platforms for the process of installing dual flight hubs.
May fabricate, modify or improvise parts. May machine nozzles, grind, lap, or polish glass on assembly units. Inspects and tests subassemblies or completed production units prior to shipment. Use various hand and machine tools.
Must have full working knowledge of SOPs and demonstrate this knowledge to customer inspectors in a professional and organized manner.
Must be able to qualify for a tow motor license and operate a forklift within the business unit. May be required to trace parts on the CRT and at times, dispatch parts to keep the jobs moving. Must understand added requirements in paint preparation on vessels and parts.
All levels of this classification are expected to train other employees in assembly techniques at their level of accomplished skill and must be able to consistently maintain housekeeping, safety and quality standards and follow standard operating procedures.
May be used as a backup serviceman. Reads blueprints and follows verbal instructions. Plans proper sequence of operations and does layout work; may have a helper to whom he assigns work.
Works with very little supervision.
Train other employees on all aspects of this position as required.
RC9 Shipper Assembler:
Plans and lays out skids, supports and packing devices. Cuts and assembles skids, crates, boxes and supports. Performs all related tasks required for safe transport or storage of products. May perform various cutting and assembling operations using power and hand tools. Operates departmental lift truck.
Provides proper placement of products in skids or crates and on cars and trucks.
Checks Bill of Material to ascertain that the correct parts and quantities have been provided. Stencils or labels items and records weights.
Writes memo shipping lists or provides other necessary information for typing shipping lists. Locates, gathers, prepares and packs various parts and products for shipping and storage. Weighs package or packages, and based on destination and method shipment, determines proper postage. May use postage machine to affix proper stamps.
Drives truck transporting loads from and to factory. Delivers and picks up items from various points within the city as required. Transports L.C.L. shipments to and from freight terminals. Occasionally goes to out-of-town destinations. Loads and unloads truck with or without help using departmental fork lift and assisted by crane or hoist as necessary.
Assembles limited types of mechanical or fabricated parts to produce sub-assemblies or complete units, using various hand tools and simple machine tools.
Follows sequence of operations as established by precedent or as instructed. Works from simple prints. May have aid of a helper or may assist Assembler "A".
Performs hydrostatic tests of vessels, jackets, and related equipment. Prepares vessels and other equipment for shipment.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
Perform other similar duties as assigned.
Requirements of Paint Applicator:
Types of Equipment:
+ Airless Spray Equipment – bulldog style hydraulic pumps,
+ Compressed Air Atomized Spray Equipment,
+ Electrostatic Spray Equipment – air and airless,
+ Manual application equipment – brushes, rollers, etc.
Types of Coatings to be applied:
+ Chlorinated Rubbers,
+ Enamels,
+ Epoxies (standard and severe service),
+ Phenolics,
+ Urethanes,
+ Zinc-rich Primers,
+ High build glass filled coatings,
+ Others as required to meet customer specifications.
Responsibilities:
+ Proper mixing and thinning of all coatings.
+ Determine proper viscosity of coating prior to application.
+ Check status of required coatings as required to maintain production schedule.
+ Use proper protective clothing and equipment in keeping with OSHA regulations.
+ Maintain work area in a neat, clean and orderly manner.
+ Maintain equipment on a regular basis to assure proper operation.
+ Daily preventive maintenance of pumps, guns and lines shall be performed including rebuilding guns and changing orifices, tips and nozzles to suit various coatings.
+ Monitor availability of repair parts and inform supervisor as needs arise.
+ Clean and/or replace filters and lubricate hydraulic pump equipment on a regular basis including changing seals and packing.
+ Rigging and safe movement of glassed and alloy vessels with overhead cranes, chains and slings. (Pennant crane controls)
+ Masking and proper preparation of electric and hydraulic drive equipment and the preparation and protection of glassed surfaces.
+ Meeting paint specifications including wet and dry film thickness and recoating of primer and intermediate (guide) coats.
+ Capable of using acceptable mil gauges to determine acceptable thickness of coatings.
+ Use of grinders to remove weld spatter as needed before painting.
+ Must be qualified for tow motor license and operate forklift as needed.
+ Maintain paint storage shed in an orderly manner and monitor stock paints and thinners to maintain adequate supply.
+ Operate can crusher to facilitate proper disposal of paint cans.
+ Assist Assemblers doing final prep work on tanks prior to shipping.
+ Maintain annual certification for hazardous waste handling and follow SOP's as it pertains to the paint area.

All members of the group will train others in the various functions.
