Job Description

Summary:

The Collision Center Mechanical Technician will perform mechanical repairs on all makes and models within the body shop environment. This role focuses on diagnosing and repairing mechanical systems on vehicles involved in collisions, ensuring they meet manufacturer specifications before delivery to the customer.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Review repair orders from the collision center and perform assigned mechanical work accurately and efficientlyDiagnose and repair mechanical issues such as suspension, steering, brakes, cooling systems, and drivetrain componentsPerform wheel alignments and frame/suspension adjustments as needed after collision repairsReplace or repair damaged mechanical parts, including radiators, AC systems, exhaust, and electrical componentsCollaborate with body technicians and estimators to identify additional mechanical needs during the repair processUse diagnostic tools and equipment to ensure proper vehicle function and safety complianceMaintain accurate documentation of all repairs performed in the repair order systemFollow manufacturer specifications, safety procedures, and industry best practicesKeep tools, equipment, and work area clean and in good working conditionAssist with test-driving repaired vehicles to verify proper operation before delivery

QualificationsMinimum 2+ years of hands-on mechanical repair experienceAbility to diagnose and repair suspension, steering, brakes, cooling systems, and drivetrain issuesProficient in using diagnostic tools and repair equipmentValid driver’s license with a good driving recordMust be authorized to work in the USA and able to pass pre-employment screenings (background, drug test, and MVR)

Preferred Qualifications:

3+ years of mechanical repair experience in a collision center, reconditioning department, or independent/general repair shopExperience working with multiple makes and models, including GM vehicles (Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, Cadillac)

Compensation (Flat-Rate: Hourly):

$18.00 - $25.00 / hourBased on experience, certifications, and skill levelTenure Bonus Program*:Starting at 6 months, earn up to $3.50/hour on every flat-rate hour turnedBonus increases with tenure and is paid annually
