College Intern Market Strategy & Customer Analytics (Hybrid - Troy, MI) - Health Alliance Plan

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This position is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing degrees related to the following business areas: market research, customer experience, market strategy, data analytics.

This is part time (15-20 hours) with remote scheduling flexibility during the academic school year and a full-time hybrid internship in Troy, MI during summer 2026 (travel/housing expenses not provided).   

Departmental Duties and Responsibilities:

Design, field, and analyze results from customer research projects (surveys, focus groups, etc.). Collect and analyze market/competitive intelligence, producing takeaways and recommendations that drive strategies. Engage in cross-functional product strategy efforts led by other team members. Query and analyze HAP data across multiple functions (Sales, Membership, Marketing, Communications, etc.)  to evaluate performance and inform future strategies and tactics. Other duties/tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

High school diploma required and must be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in business related to Market Research, Marketing Strategy, Data Analytics, or Customer Experience. Students attending a Michigan located institution preferred. Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication, and analytical or critical thinking skills. Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion. Proficiency in MS Office programs (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) required. Experience with Power BI, Qualtrics or SQL preferred.
