Position Summary:
The College Coordinator plays a pivotal role as the administrative lead for Will Rice College, one of eleven undergraduate residential colleges at Rice University. The College Coordinator collaborates closely with the Will Rice College magister(s) to ensure the seamless day-to-day operations of the college. Reporting to the college magister and with a secondary reporting line to the assistant dean, the coordinator is responsible for managing Will Rice College’s office, overseeing the college budget, and actively contributing to the planning and execution of college-wide events and programming.

Ideal Candidate Statement:
The Will Rice College Coordinator provides a safe and welcoming environment for the students and core team members. The coordinator will oversee the college’s day-to-day operations and monitor several budgets while coordinating events throughout the year. The ideal College Coordinator is well-organized and comfortable implementing administrative processes, tracking expenses, and using spreadsheets. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and experience mentoring students and college core team members around administrative processes that support the college's operations. As a self-starter, the coordinator will guide students in a supportive manner without directly managing them.

Workplace Requirements:
This position is exclusively on-site, necessitating all duties to be performed in person full-time at Rice University. Per Rice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.

Hiring Range: $45,000 - $46,500 annually, contingent upon experience and qualifications
*Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree In lieu of the education requirement, additional related experience, above and beyond what is required, on an equivalent year-for-year basis may be substituted 1+ years of experience in a business office or university department setting In lieu of the experience requirement, additional related education, above and beyond what is required, on an equivalent year-for-year basis may be substituted

Preferences:

One year or more of related student services or administrative office experience Experience working with college students Rice experience Knowledge of a university setting and the associated terminology Knowledge of FERPA and Title IX Experience with Banner, Google Docs, Box, Adobe Sign, Oracle Systems

Essential Functions:

Supports the department and area mission, vision, and goals Assists in the development, planning, and implementation of programming and outreach for student leaders and the campus community Coordinates leadership development programming for student leaders Responsible for logistics and marketing related to area(s) of responsibility Implements, administers, and evaluates day-to-day business and administrative activities of the college Assists in managing unit budgets and monitors and approves expenditures, including iO line manager for student accounts and delegate for magister expenses Provides guidance to students on a range of issues to assist them in making appropriate choices and decisions and directs them to the appropriate University resources Documents and assesses area functions on a regular basis Contributes to the development of marketing materials and strategies, assists in planning and developing programming activities, outreach functions, events, and fundraising Performs all other duties as assigned

Additional Functions:

Manages the college office, including receiving, processing, and distributing mail Guides student leaders to nurture independence in the experiential learning environment Assists the college magisters and core team members with crisis management related to student well-being, inclement weather, college functions, etc. Assists in the housing process at the college in collaboration with the college magister, student leadership, and Housing and Dining
