At GDIT, people are our differentiators. As a Collective Trainer, you will directly support the III Corps Warrior Skills Training Center at Fort Hood, Texas, providing hands-on simulation training that strengthens unit readiness and operational effectiveness.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
Uses Army simulation tools in an immersive, gaming-based blended simulation environment to train U.S. Army units from Individual to Company Level.Serves as an operator for WSTC systems, including powering up, troubleshooting, repairing, and powering down systems.Performs network and simulation preparation prior to operations, as well as maintenance and adjustments before, during, and after exercises.Designs, develops, and integrates training scenarios that align with customer training focus and intent, meeting doctrinal and operational requirements.Maintains proficiency in related Command and Control Information Systems (C2IS) and ensures full interoperability between simulation platforms (GFT, WST, TSS).Coaches Soldiers on the use of simulation systems to achieve training objectives.Uses scripts to adjust simulated variables, conditions, and environments based on customer requirements.Provides analytical and technical support for training projects, including creation and refinement of tactical/operational documentation.Maintains currency with emerging U.S. and Coalition doctrine, tactics, equipment, and procedures.WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, and relevant work experienceExperience: Minimum of 5 years of simulation-based training experience; leadership experience at platoon through brigade level.Required Technical skills:Working knowledge of military use of simulations and Windows operating systems.Familiarity with scripting and C++ programming to adjust simulation variables and conditions.Proficiency with C2IS systems and scenario development.Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and network issues.Certification: CompTIA Network+ or Security+ certification, or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.Security Clearance: Secret Clearance required to startUS Citizenship RequiredRole requirements:Former Senior Noncommissioned Officer (E-7 or above) with Master Leader Course (MLC) graduation or higher Professional Military Education (PME) equivalent; proven expertise in Army training methodology, planning, and execution.Excellent communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projectsExperience interfacing with military, government, and contractor personnel.Location: On Customer Site at Fort Hood Warrior Skills Training CenterPreferred Skills:Experience with Virtual Battle Space (VBS)Operational deployment experience (OIF/OND/OEF).Travel: 10-25%GDIT IS YOUR PLACE
