Description We are looking for a skilled and driven Collections Specialist to join our team in Southfield, Michigan. This role focuses on managing business-to-business (B2B) collections, building strong client relationships, and ensuring timely payments. The position offers a Contract to permanent opportunity for individuals who excel in financial operations and possess advanced Excel proficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the accounts receivable portfolio for B2B clients, ensuring prompt follow-up on overdue payments and maintaining accurate records.
• Negotiate payment plans and terms while fostering positive relationships with business clients.
• Build and sustain strong client relationships to promote trust and long-term partnerships.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align client needs with payment expectations.
• Process invoices for business clients weekly, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Monitor payment activity and trends, reporting insights to ensure compliance with schedules.
• Utilize advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables, v-lookups, and formulas to analyze overdue accounts and generate reports.
• Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports for management, highlighting collection metrics and improvement opportunities.
• Ensure collection practices adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Identify areas for process improvement and recommend strategies to enhance workflow efficiency. Requirements • Proven experience in B2B collections or a similar role, preferably in financial operations or accounting.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills to manage client relationships effectively.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and data analysis.
• Ability to analyze data and prepare detailed reports for management.
• Solid understanding of accounts receivable processes and payment tracking.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Familiarity with compliance standards and regulations related to collections.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing financial records.
