Description We are looking for a meticulous Collections Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Brooklyn, New York. This role is ideal for someone with strong expertise in managing both commercial and consumer collections while ensuring compliance with credit policies and procedures. You will play a key role in maintaining cash flow and resolving outstanding accounts efficiently. Responsibilities: • Manage and oversee the collection of overdue accounts for both commercial and consumer clients. • Conduct thorough follow-ups with customers to resolve payment discrepancies and outstanding balances. • Review and analyze account histories to identify patterns and recommend actionable solutions. • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate billing and timely collection processes. • Monitor and report on collection activities, providing regular updates to management. • Implement effective credit and collection strategies to minimize risk and optimize cash flow. • Maintain detailed and organized records of all collection efforts and communications. • Address customer inquiries regarding billing and payment processes in a precise and courteous manner. • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant financial regulations. • Work with external partners, as needed, to resolve complex collection issues. Requirements • Proven experience in commercial and consumer collections. • Strong understanding of credit policies and collection processes. • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. • Ability to analyze account data and propose effective solutions. • Proficiency in relevant billing and accounting software. • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. • Knowledge of financial regulations related to collections.
