Collections Specialist
Description We are looking for a skilled Collections Specialist to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a manufacturing organization by managing accounts receivable and ensuring timely payments from customers. The role requires strong communication abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: • Manage accounts receivable by monitoring overdue balances and ensuring timely collection of payments. • Develop and negotiate payment plans, settlements, or other methods to address outstanding debts. • Conduct daily reviews of accounts to identify current and potential past-due balances. • Issue collection letters and take appropriate action to address delinquent accounts. • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, payment arrangements, and resolutions. • Communicate with customers to clarify concerns, resolve disputes, and address payment challenges. • Collaborate with internal departments to facilitate accurate and timely payment processing. • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal standards during the collections process. • Refer unresolved customer issues to appropriate departments for further investigation. • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the collections process. If you're interested in this position, we encourage you to apply online or call our office at (210) 696-8300 Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent is required. • At least one year of experience in collections, accounts receivable, customer service, or a related field is preferred. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to resolve disputes effectively. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Ability to multitask and remain organized under pressure. • Attention to detail and accuracy while meeting tight deadlines. • Familiarity with accounting software systems and customer-facing portals.
