Collections Specialist
Description Our client in downtown Houston is seeking an experienced Collections Specialist to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your skills in accounts receivable and collections while contributing to a reputable organization. The ideal candidate will have a self-starter mentality, the ability to build strong client relationships, and a solid understanding of collections processes in both B2B and B2C settings. Key Responsibilities: + Manage and execute all aspects of accounts receivable and collections strategies to ensure timely receipt of payments. + Contact clients regarding overdue accounts via phone, email, and written correspondence and follow up as necessary to resolve outstanding issues. + Maintain up-to-date and accurate client account records. + Work cross-functionally with internal departments such as accounting, billing, and customer service to resolve discrepancies and improve collections processes. + Reconcile customer accounts and ensure all payments are correctly applied. + Provide weekly reporting on aged accounts, collections progress, and risk factors to management. + Identify and escalate delinquent accounts for further action, such as legal proceedings, if applicable. Requirements Qualifications: + A minimum of 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable or collections. + Proficiency in an ERP system (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics) and Excel is highly preferred. + Experience in the finance or healthcare industry is a plus but not required. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. + Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Details: + Employment Type: Contract-to-hire. + Hours: Full-time, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. + Location: Downtown Houston (easily accessible by public transportation).
